What an incredible day at Springwood Blood Donor Centre

A huge heartfelt thank you to all our amazing donors who took the time to donate blood and support the 8th MYC Annual Blood Donation Camp 2026.

Thanks to your generosity, kindness and commitment, we achieved an incredible 52 life-changing blood donations 🙏

🚨 STOP RACISM. STOP VIOLENCE. KEEP OUR COMMUNITY SAFE. 🚨

Racism and violence have no place in Australia.

On 13 September 2026, on the day of a protest opposing immigration in Australia, an Indian migrant was reportedly attacked. The victim was allegedly subjected to racist chants, including “Go back to your own country,” before being punched in the face and suffering a broken nose.

Political disagreement is part of democracy. Racist abuse and physical violence are not.

Regardless of political views or beliefs, every person deserves to feel safe and respected in Australia. Migrants are an important part of our communities, workplaces and society, and nobody should be targeted because of their skin colour, background or country of origin.

The incident has been reported to Queensland Police, who are assisting the victim and investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

We strongly condemn racism, intimidation and violence of any kind. We also encourage our community to remain aware, stay safe and report any incidents of violence or racial abuse to the appropriate authorities.
