Throughout May, our incredible Domestic Violence Systems Coordination (DVSC) team and Caboolture FaCC team were actively involved in initiatives and working alongside partners to help prevent and respond to domestic and family violence.
May was Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, with this yearโs theme: โTogether Queenslanders can prevent domestic and family violence.โ
A key event was the annual Moreton DFV Assemblage, hosted by DVSC in partnership with Queensland Police Service and the Family Law Pathways Network. The event brought together services and stakeholders from across the region to share practice, strengthen connections, and showcase the important work being delivered locally.
We were pleased to welcome VIP guests including Bob Atkinson AO APM (Co-Chair of the DFV Prevention Council), Kerri-Anne Dooley MP (State Member for Redcliffe), and Councillor Tony Latter. The event also featured presentations from QPS, Relationships Australia, MATSICHS, and Micha Projects.
With more than 160 attendees, the Assemblage provided a valuable opportunity for collaboration and connection across the sector.
DVSC and FaCC also participated in the annual Moreton Bay Says No to Violence Walk, joining the community in standing together to speak up, speak out, and say no to violence.
It was a meaningful month of advocacy, connection, and community engagement, and we are proud to have been part of it.
