Beyond DV Beyond DV Ltd is a charity that strives to prevent domestic violence through Recovery Support and Community Education.

Creators of the "Ask a Mate" App for young men and "Love&Learn" App for young women, Dress to Express Day and shopping centre HOPE Hubs. OUR STORY
Beyond DV Ltd was founded by Brisbane Teacher/School Adninistrator Carolyn Robinson, after her own daughter was impacted by domestic violence in 2017. Accompanying her daughter to court on numerous occasions had a profound impact on Carolyn, igniting a desire to use her existing skills, expertise and contacts to help women and children rebuild their lives after domestic violence and to raise awareness around DV in the community. Beyond DV launched as a charity in January 2018. In 2020, Beyond DV and the Founder were inducted into the Qld Government Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Honour Roll. WOMENS PROGRAMS
Beyond DV is the provider of a number of innovative, evidence-based, strengths-based recovery programs for women and children. Our programs and services address BEYOND DV's "FIVE PILLARS OF RECOVERY" which we have identified from our hands-on work with DV survivors

⭐️LEGAL SUPPORT- legal advice, support with police matters
⭐️HEALTH SUPPORT- DV counselling, group therapy, allied health support, wellbeing classes
⭐️HOUSING SUPPORT- including our new HANNAH'S SANCTUARY Transitional Housing Project
⭐️FINANCIAL REBUILDING- goal setting, job readiness, training & employment opportunities

Our programs and services are delivered from three secure centres across Brisbane and from our HOPE Hub at Westfield Carindale

HOPE HUB WESTFIELD CARINDALE
The first of it's kind in Australia, the HOPE Hub is a highly accessible, highly secure space where all community members can access support around social issues, with a focus on domestic violence and mental health. The HOPE Hub is open seven days a week, with trained staff ready to help. PRIMARY PREVENTION
Our focus around Primary Prevention has grown and we have reached tens of thousands of community members across Australia through

*"We Need to Talk... " DV Awareness Sessions for Parents and Teens- providing information around healthy/unhealthy relationships, encouraging important conversations across generations and genders.

* "Love&Learn" Teen Relationship- a free App which helps young people to develop their understanding of healthy & unhealthy relationships, as well as where and how to find support

INSPIRE2ASPIRE SURVIVOR ADVOCATE PROGRAM
We have a number of clients who have been trained to share their voices of lived experience as Survivor Advocates. They are being engaged for public presentations, media interviews, community events, government and corporate policy making and resource creating.

So lovely to attend the Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust Ball this year with our dear friends Sue & Lloyd Clarke.

Both of our families, through our lived experience, are determined to drive change to end domestic and family violence.
Both of our families were brought together by the Lady Mayoress in 2020 and both the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress have been incredible supporters of both Beyond DV and Small Steps 4 Hannah .

When we first established Beyond DV in 2017, our first grant was provided by the Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust. They are a godsend for the small, grassroots charities of Brisbane.

Always our favourite event of the year, we'd like to thank the Lord Mayor, Lady Mayoress, the Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust team and the generous donors, including countless ratepayers, who support them. Brisbane charities could not do their critical work without you!

And thank you Lloyd and Sue for a lovely evening 💜.

With incredible support from the Collingwood Football Club and Collingwood Captain (and Ask A Mate App "Mate") Darcy Moore, we are THRILLED to announce that our "Mate-to-Mate: Emerging Leaders Day" for young men in Year 11 is heading to Melbourne!!

The event will be held for 250 young men from 15 schools on MONDAY 16 NOVEMBER at the Collingwood Football Club "GLASSHOUSE" venue, from 9.00am to 2.30pm.

This year’s theme, “End child marriage and invest in girls’ rights”, calls for action to protect girls’ rights and support their choices.

💬 "Every girl deserves a childhood. Every girl deserves the freedom to learn, to grow, to make her own choices and to define her own future." –UNICEF, International Day of the Girl 2026

For girls experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence, this includes having a say in the decisions and services intended to support their safety.

At ANROWS’ 2025 conference, young advocates called for opportunities to speak for themselves, have their expertise recognised and help create change.

Turning these calls into everyday practice requires action from the adults and systems around them.

ANROWS’ 2026 practitioner resource, "Supporting children and young people experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence", offers practical guidance for frontline workers.

Drawing on evidence brought together in "In their own right", it encourages workers to:

▷ ask age-appropriate questions that offer choices
▷ include children and young people in safety planning
▷ be consistent and follow through on commitments.

On the 9th of October 2017, Beyond DV was officially registered as a charity with the ACNC.

I could never have imagined that a few notes on the back of an airline boarding pass- my first ideas for a charity- would lead us to where we are today.

To every person who has played a part in our journey, through all the highs and the lows, thank you!
Our charity has grown and evolved because of you. 💜

As we now step into our tenth year, we are determined to have an even greater impact in our local community, around our state and across our nation.

Our pursuit to eliminate domestic and family violence and to support victim-survivors to live their best lives after DFV will continue to drive every decision we make. 💜
