Congratulations to Dr Claire Arundell, president-elect at Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine!

ACRRM has sponsored the extension of our project to bring independent, confidential, experienced and trusted GP care to health practitioners in the Roma region.

AND she was the lucky recipient of our sponsored Sandpiper bag at RMA2022 in Canberra.

ACRRM is delighted to announce Dr Claire Arundell as its next President.

Claire is a Rural Generalist, educator, instructor, past Chair of College Council and a passionate advocate for rural and remote communities. Across her career, she has cared for communities in almost every state and territory, and currently calls Norfolk Island home.

She brings with her a deep understanding of the Rural Generalist profession, a genuine commitment to ACRRM members and an unwavering belief in the difference Rural Generalists make every day.

Claire will take on the role following ACRRMโ€™s Annual General Meeting in October, succeeding Dr Rod Martin.

We warmly congratulate Claire and look forward to seeing her lead the College into its next chapter.

๐Ÿ’™ Thank You, Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation! ๐Ÿ’™

Thanks to the generous support of the Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation, Rural Doctors Foundation can provide FREE Vorotek ear loupes to GPs in Armidale, Grafton, Taree, Dubbo and Mudgee.

These specialised ear loupes help GPs diagnose and treat ear conditions more quickly and comfortably, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for care.

By equipping rural doctors with the tools they need, we're helping improve access to quality healthcare and making a real difference for people living in rural and remote communities.

Thank you for helping us support healthier communities across rural NSW. ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ’™ Thank You, Queensland Gives! ๐Ÿ’™

We're incredibly grateful to Queensland Gives for helping us provide FREE Sandpiper Emergency Trauma Kits to GPs across Mount Isa and the Isaac region.

In rural and remote communities, doctors are often the first and only point of medical care in an emergency. These trauma kits give GPs access to essential equipment when every second counts, helping them respond with confidence during critical situations.

By supporting initiatives like this, Queensland Gives is helping strengthen emergency healthcare in some of Queensland's most remote communities and ensuring rural patients can access lifesaving care closer to home.

Thank you for helping us support the doctors who care for rural Queensland. ๐Ÿ’š

Partnerships make a real difference. It was a pleasure for Rural Doctors Foundation CEO Fran Avon to meet with Lauren Collard, Program Coordinator from QCoal Foundation, to personally thank the Foundation for its generous support of our Better Rural Ear Health program.

Through this partnership, QCoal Foundation has helped fund the distribution of ear loupes to rural medical practices in Bowen, Collinsville and Emerald, equipping local clinicians with the tools they need to diagnose and treat ear conditions safely, effectively and close to home.

For rural and remote communities, access to specialist ear care can be challenging. By supporting practical solutions that build local healthcare capability, QCoal Foundation is helping ensure more Australians can receive high-quality care where they live.

Thank you for investing in healthier rural communities and helping us bring better ear care closer to home.

๐Ÿ’™ Together, we're strengthening rural healthcare, one community at a time.

A big thank you to Aurizon Community Giving Fund for helping bring better ear health care closer to home for rural Australians. Our CEO, Fran Avon, recently caught up with Mark Maguire from Aurizon to thank them for their support of our Better Rural Ear Health program and to share some of the incredible stories emerging from communities across Queensland and the Northern Territory.

Thanks to the support of Aurizon Community Giving Fund ear loupes and microsuction equipment are helping rural healthcare professionals diagnose and treat ear conditions locally, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for specialist care. Rural Doctors Foundation has distributed ear loupes and microsuction packages to practices across Queensland and the Northern Territory, supporting safer and more effective ear care closer to home.

It was wonderful to talk about the difference this equipment is already making for rural families and communities, and how strong partnerships can create lasting impact where it is needed most.

Thank you, Mark and the Aurizon team, for helping us improve access to healthcare in rural and remote Australia.
