Caring | Committed | Connected 💙

Our June e-news is here, and it’s a powerful reminder of the strength and spirit at the heart of rural healthcare.

This edition shares stories of leadership, connection, and impact - from welcoming Dr Louise Stone as our new Medical Director, to connecting with rural practice owners at the inaugural Rural Doctors Association Australia Practice Owners Conference, and seeing the real difference our partners are making in communities across Australia.

We’re especially proud to highlight the people behind the care - the doctors, nurses and health professionals who support their communities every day, often under immense pressure.

As we approach the end of the financial year, it’s also an important time to recognise how vital this support is. Just one day without programs like GPs4RuralDocs can mean up to 150 missed medical appointments in a rural community.

💙 If you can, please consider supporting our EOFY appeal and help keep care local for rural Australians.

As the end of the financial year approaches, we reflect on how finely balanced rural healthcare can be. In many rural and remote communities, access to care depends on a very small number of doctors, nurses, and health professionals – people who carry enormous responsibility, often with limited support for their own health and wellbeing.

At Rural Doctors Foundation, the impact of providing access to confidential, independent healthcare is clear. When health workers can look after their own health, they are far more likely to stay, helping to protect continuity of care for our rural communities.

Through the GPs4RuralDocs program, this support is already making a difference in places like Charleville. Support doesn’t just enable new services; it helps protect the rural communities we all rely on.

With just weeks left until EOFY, we want to thank everyone who has already supported the Foundation’s work. We encourage those considering a first gift to donate now.

Every donation made before 30 June directly helps keep care local, supports the health professionals’ communities depend on, and strengthens rural healthcare when it is under increasing pressure.

Now is the time to make a difference.

If you’ve been considering giving, please don’t wait – your support today can help ensure care is still available tomorrow.
