PFLAG + Brisbane

PFLAG+ is a peer support group for parents, caregivers and friends of LGBTQIA+ children and adults. We have regular social outings for parents and families.

100% Voluntary

+ We support families with LGBTQIA+ loved ones
+ We provide community education about the issues facing the rainbow community
+ We advocate for our loved ones We provide one-on-one peer support for parents in acute situations, along with bi-monthly group meetings with guest speakers and group parent support. We are happy to extend our support to regional Queenslanders. We are 100% run by volunteers.

We are excited to advise that Necho Brocchi will be our guest speaker at the meeting and will share with us the amazing services provided by Open Doors Youth Service.

PFLAG+ Brisbane will be having a free art therapy workshop for our next Parent/Ally Connect meeting on Saturday 6 June - and all parents, kids (of all ages) and allies are invited.

We’ll be playing with collage and printmaking to create artsy badges, posters or zines that are fun, affirming and celebrate your identity or pronouns. Let's re-purpose q***r media to create new art and explore how badges have long served as symbols of pride, resistance, solidarity, and community within LGBTQIA+ activism.

Facilitator: Lucian (they/them) of Lucent Flow is a gender-punk printmaker and creative community facilitator. Find them at www.linktr.ee/lucentflow

Our next meeting is this Sunday 12th April, starting now at 2pm, instead of 1.30pm (to avoid morning road closures for the tour de brisbane race).
PFLAG meetings provide a safe space to connect with other parents and allies where you can share, listen and meet with other members for support and community.
