Wynnum Manly Community Kindergarten

The Wynnum Manly Community Kindergarten is a two unit independent community Centre affiliated with the C&K Association of Queensland

Wynnum Manly Community Kindergarten is an affiliated Kindergarten with C&K. Our programs for 2023 are:
Sugar Gliders (Kindy 3's): Monday and Tuesday 8:20am-4pm. Kookaburras (Kindy): Monday and Tuesday 8:20am-4pm. Water Dragons (Kindy): alt Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8:40am-2:50pm. Bush Bees (Kindy 3's program): 8:30am-2:30pm. We are proud to offer an enriching Creek Kindy program. Our educator

s skillfully partner with all children and families to create caring and vibrant learning communities. This is a play-based program which recognises the value and richness of children’s play as a catalyst for their learning. Our curriculum approach aligns with both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG). As well as contemporary practices and understandings of the early years. We are a Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten.

Lest we forget.

The Kookaburra group have been exploring Anzac Day this week, learning about the significance and the symbolism of the poppy. Using this knowledge, the children worked together to create a collaborative art piece. They collected natural materials from the playground, along with sprigs of rosemary, to thoughtfully represent remembrance and respect.

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Goodstart Capalaba Greenup Street to our Kindy, where educators drew inspiration from our environments and programs. This created valuable opportunities for meaningful discussion and collaboration, as we explored Nature Play, Aboriginal perspectives, incursions, and more.

Our doors are always open to educators and Kindergartens who wish to visit and collaborate.

What a beautiful morning at Greene Park for our family meet-and-mingle! ☀️

It was wonderful to see families and children connecting, making new friends, having fun on the playground and enjoying time together.

Today the children spent a beautiful morning down at the creek where they engaged in dip-netting in the cool water. The children were excited to discover fish in the creek and enjoyed taking a closer look, observing them with great interest and curiosity. How fortunate we are to have such meaningful experiences in nature.

Our kindy community has kindly donated oodles of chocolate, craft and decorations all lovingly packed into some wonderful Easter themed hampers.

Every ticket sold helps raise funds for our Kindergarten to purchase resources, learning materials and make improvements to our environments.

You may have noticed that in recent months, we’ve moved away from sharing children’s faces on our social media.

This has been a thoughtful and intentional decision by our team. After careful reflections, we believe that taking a “faceless” approach is the best way to protect and respect the children in our care.

Our priority is to uphold each child’s right to safety, privacy, and agency, while continuing to share meaningful moments in a way that honours and safeguards them.

What a wonderful start to the Kindy year!

The past few weeks have been filled with settling in, building new connections and learning the rhythms and routines of our days together. It’s been a joy to see the children growing in confidence and curiosity already.

We can’t wait for all the adventures and discoveries that lie ahead!

This year marks Miss Caroline’s third year at Wynnum Manly Community Kindy, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her as part of our team. Miss Caroline brings a genuine warmth and enthusiasm to the kindy each day and loves creating engaging play spaces to inspire curiosity among the children.
