MENDORONG PENELITIAN TRANSDISIPLINER – MEMBUAT PENELITIAN BERMAKNA UNTUK PEMBANGUNAN PERDESAAN
(FOSTERING TRANS-DISCIPLINARY
RESEARCH – MAKING RESEARCH COUNT FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT)

Hampir separuh dari warga negara Indonesia masih menggantungkan hidup dan penghidupannya di wilayah perdesaan. Desa bagi Indonesia merupakan salah satu prioritas pembangunan sebagaimana diamanatkan dalam UU nomor 6 tahun 2014 tentang Desa. Berangkat dari peran strategis Desa dan masyarakat perdesaan, sejumlah program pembangunan dan intervensi inovasi telah dilaksanakan, termasuk dalam kegiatan penelitian dan pengkajian. Akan tetapi ada perhatian yang berkembang terhadap efektifitas dari program-program pembangunan dan inisiatif-inisiatif penelitian dengan pengenalan teknologi/ inovasi karena tidak selalu mengarah pada perbaikan kesejahteraan masyarakat desa.

Seringkali masyarakat kembali lagi ke cara-cara mereka sebelumnya ketika program telah selesai. Alasan yang sering terdengar antara lain inovasi tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka, kesulitan mendapatkan input untuk menerapkan inovasi, atau bantuan yang melekat dalam introduksi inovasi tersebut menimbulkan kerenggangan sosial di kalangan warga.
Sementara itu, permasalahan-permasalahan di wilayah perdesaan sangat kompleks yang tidak bisa diselesaikan oleh hanya satu bidang keilmuan saja. Program dan intervensi inovasi yang bersifat sektoral tidak banyak membawa perubahan pada skala luas. Oleh karena itu, pembangunan Desa melalui pengembangan teknologi/inovasi membutuhkan pendekatan trans-disciplinary, bukan hanya untuk memahami permasalahan secara utuh, tapi juga untuk menemukan solusi strategis.

Lalu bagaimana langkah dan strategi yang dapat ditempuh agar inisitaif penelitian program untuk pembangunan dapat menghasilkan dampak luas untuk peningkatan kesejahteraan warga perdesaan? Tema tersebut akan dikupas tuntas bersama Prof. Elske van de Fliert dari The University of Queensland dalam acara Dhu-Wicara oleh Pusat Riset Kesejahteraan, Desa dan Konektivitas. Acara akan dilaksanakan pada Hari Selasa, 20 Desember 2022 jam 09.00 WIB yang dilaksanakan secara on-line.

Meet the Multicultural Queensland Advisory Council: Ameya Bhagwant Deshmukh.

Living in the Western Queensland town of Bedourie and working for Diamantina Shire Council, Ameya brings a remote regional perspective to MQAC.

Having come from India in 2018 as an international student, he was a Brisbane International Student Ambassador and former member of Study Queensland's Student Advisory Panel.

Through his postgraduate degree in Communication for Social Change, he brings knowledge of intercultural communication strategies and an understanding of the challenges faced by migrants and their journey in integrating into an English-speaking country.

Learn how your film can better support environmental change.

EngageMedia invites Asia-Pacific video initiatives focused on environmental issues to apply to our Video for Change Impact Lab, which seeks to strengthen the capacity of filmmakers in planning, producing, analysing, and sustaining the impacts of their work.

The Impact Lab will run online from January to April 2021 and is based on the Video for Change Impact Toolkit, a resource that assists filmmakers in the design and evaluation of the impact happening at every stage of their video initiatives.

Short- to medium-length video initiatives (10 to 40 minutes) are invited to apply. The deadline for applications is 12 December 2020, 23:59 Bangkok time (UTC+7).
