A new venue, steeped in history. ✨

For the first time, the Legacy Brisbane Gala Dinner, presented by NIOA , will be held at the Royal International Convention Centre (RICC), located within the historic Brisbane Showgrounds.

While the venue is new to our Gala, its connection to Australia's military history runs deep.

From the Boer War through to the Second World War, the Brisbane Showgrounds played an important role in supporting Australia's war efforts. During WWI, the grounds were used as training camps for Queensland soldiers, while WWII saw the site accommodate American troops and provide facilities for military personnel.

The Showgrounds also hosted medal presentations honouring veterans and returned servicemen. It's a fitting setting for an evening dedicated to honouring service and supporting the families of Australian veterans.

We look forward to welcoming more than 500 guests to this historic location on Saturday 7 November for the 2026 Legacy Brisbane Gala Dinner.

This Sunday, Wantima Country Club will host a special charity performance by the Concert Band of the 1st Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery, with funds raised from the event supporting Legacy Brisbane.

Legacy Week across our communities continues! 💙

Throughout Legacy Week, our volunteers were out across our region, with communities big and small getting behind veterans’ families.

📍 Hervey Bay: Once again joined by the wonderful volunteers from Older Men Unlimited, who generously lend a hand with our Legacy Week collections each year.

📍 Moreton Bay: Our volunteers were kept busy across an incredible 10 collection sites throughout the week, with badges, bears and merchandise making their way into the community.

📍 Logan: Volunteers set up at Logan Diggers and Bunnings Browns Plains, giving locals multiple opportunities to stop by and show their support.

To every volunteer who gave their time, every venue that welcomed us and every person who stopped at one of our collection tables, thank you for getting behind Legacy Week. 💙

Legacy Week across some of our communities 💙

Our local Legatees and volunteers were out in force throughout Legacy Week, raising vital funds to support veterans’ families.

📍 Fraser Burnett: Legatee and Contact Group Secretary Jenni led volunteers at Station Square in Maryborough, including Legacy beneficiary Glenda and former Legacy Fraser Burnett administrator Merle.

📍 Redlands: An incredible $26,190 was raised during the week, up 10.6% on 2025! State Member for Oodgeroo, the Hon. Amanda Stoker MP, also stopped by to show her support.

📍 Bribie Island: Roberta was among our wonderful volunteers collecting at Bribie Island Shopping Centre.

A huge thank you to our volunteers and everyone across these communities who donated, bought a badge or took home a Legacy bear. Every contribution helps us keep our promise to veterans’ families. 💙

This Legacy Week, 80 personnel from 1st Signal Regiment took to the streets of Brisbane C*D, continuing a tradition of support that has now spanned 27 years.

And what a day it was, with an incredible $32,876 raised in just one day for veterans’ families!

A huge thank you to Major Mike Cavanagh for leading the charge, every 1Sig member who volunteered their time, and of course, everyone in Brisbane who stopped to donate, pick up a badge or take home a Legacy bear.

We’re incredibly grateful to have 1st Signal Regiment standing alongside Legacy, year after year. 🇦🇺💙

Brisbane, you showed up! 💙

Two days, hundreds of collectors and plenty of Legacy badges and bears across the C*D.

From our RAAF and Army collectors on Wednesday to 1st Signal Regiment continuing their incredible 27-year Legacy Week tradition on Thursday, it was a huge couple of days.

A special thank you to Annabelle Wilson, No. 1 Anzac Square, 1 William Street Brisbane and Rapid Relief Team AU for getting behind us.
