In celebration of National Nutrition Week and World Food Day, Brisbane Food Tech teachers were invited for an evening of connection, collaborative thinking, and cooking.

In highlighting the importance of Food Technology as a subject, we discussed it's relevance to food literacy, food security, and the culture of food in our schools. 💛

$5 from every ticket sold is donated to OzHarvest, which means each ticket provides 10 meals for locals in need.

🔥 Michaela is stepping up for her very first CEO CookOff on Monday 27 October!

Michaela has always loved two things: feeding people and solving problems. Her work with OzHarvest brings both together. She joined the Queensland team as Engagement Coordinator in 2018 and now leads us as General Manager.

She loves bringing like-minded people together to create solutions that make a difference today and tomorrow. Equal parts enthusiastic and calm, she revels in finding pragmatic solutions in the face of challenges.

We can’t wait to see her bring that energy to the kitchen on the night! The entire OzHarvest team (and her biggest little fan, Hazel) will be cheering her on. 🙌

For 15 years, Community Friends has made sure people in need don't go without. Every week they serve around 300 people at Bunyapa Park. People of all ages and backgrounds come from all over Brisbane, and some travel from as far as the Gold Coast.

That generosity runs deep in the team. Jimmy, one of the organisers, arrived in Australia in 1969 and went on to run restaurants and catering businesses. He couldn't bear to see good food go to waste at the end of each day, so he started giving it to local places that could use it. That same belief still drives the work today.

We're proud to supply food that fills plates and results in real savings for people. Thank you, Community Friends, for all you do for our community. 💛
