What an honour! 🏆

OzHarvest took home the Sustainability Award at the 2026 Townsville EcoFiesta, and our very own food rescue driver Keira was there to accept it and share a few words about our work.

🚚 We deliver an average of 6,000 meals per week in Townsville, rescuing food that would have otherwise gone to landfill. Thank you Townsville City Council for recognising our work!

Bring your family to our kitchen in the school holidays! 🧑‍🍳 Join OzHarvest chefs to whip up fresh, handmade pasta and juicy meatballs, all while learning about food waste and food insecurity in our country. Through this engaging and educational session, children not only gain new cooking skills but also see how they can help others in a meaningful way.

Louise* has relied on OzHarvest for years, not just for herself, but for the people in her community who have no one else. Elderly people living with dementia, without family nearby to help. She shows up for them, helping make sure they have meals they couldn't otherwise afford.

She has watched the queues grow. She has watched the faces change.

"It's not the cost of living," she says. "It's the cost of survival. For everybody."
