Sunnybank/Coopers Plains QCWA Branch meetings are held on 1st Monday of each month, and on the 3rd Monday of each month we have an outing or craft, catch-up, and lunch at the Hall. We are an active, friendly community of women, who together improve the lives of people living in regional, rural and remote Queensland. Currently our branch is undertaking the following community projects. Catering fo
r a sewing group at Bribie Island twice a year - May and November. Catering at the Mt Gravatt Show - sandwiches and scones
Making up DV pack for different organizations that we partner with - Salem Safe House
We are currently working on home hints and recipe booklet. With Dr Gaj from X Stitch who helps men who have been homeless get back on thier feet, then transition into thier place. We were asked if we would make knitted/crocheted wreathes for our member for Moreton - Julie Ann Campbell MP so she would be able to take them to Rememberance Day, Anzac day etc. We have some talented ladies that can crochet and knit that have this project well in hand. We are also working with the Diggers Guild that provides items that can be packaged and sent overseas or domesticallyto our diggers. (items can include socks, beanies, toothpaste, toothbrushes, playing cards, etc)
We also untake craft with Bunnings a few times a year
We also ask community goups to come out to speak to us at our meetings
Our branch is very diverse in our activities. You will find women who are interested in a wide variety of topics which are sure to align to some of your interests.
