and this is how the Brisbane City Council is destroying our beautiful nature in Brisbane. Instead of retaining and planting more trees, to cool down the city during heat waves, to protect our wildlife and to fight climate change, this is what the Council is doing: cutting more and more trees for development, even when it's not necessary! and reducing our green spaces. - Ecosciences Precinct - Dutton Park... once a beautiful line of trees full of birds and grass to sit on and enjoy nature...now desolation... This is a great message to UNESCO: how much we really care for the Great Barrier Reef, which got to 90% death toll in some reefs this year. Congratulations, Lord Mayor.

🏝Avoid Island Nature Refuge is a privately owned, permanent nature refuge located in the southern Great Barrier Reef. The island sanctuary has minimal human interference and is mostly free from invasive species. The island acts as a vital haven for Flatback Turtles, providing a nesting habitat free from anthropogenic impacts, and is an important feeding site for migratory shorebirds such as the endangered Eastern Curlew. The island is also home to several threatened ecosystems which are being actively managed to ensure their ongoing health. QTFN, in collaboration with the Koinmerburra Aboriginal Corporation, is dedicated to preserving the island's rich environmental and cultural heritage.
