We are delighted to launch our very own Season of Creation resource for 2026 - an exciting new offering from the Grow Together Network.

Centered on the theme "Make Our Neighborhood a Table," this five-week guide includes reflections, prayers, preaching ideas and practical actions to help churches celebrate the Season of Creation through food, community and care for God's creation.

We hope these resources inspire new conversations, partnerships and practical ways of helping people and creation flourish together.

This is exactly what the Anglican Church Southern Queensland ‘Grow Together Network’ is about, creating such spaces while feeding the hungry. Thank you Archbishop Jeremy Greaves for sharing this.

Theologically, Anglicanism charts a third way through the landscape of evangelical and catholic options: one that is not at odds with either, but nonetheless aspires, at its best, to be more than what either can offer on its own.

Such an exceptional movement for creation!

🌳 Today, 3 August, the Communion Forest marks its fourth birthday.

Launched with the planting of a symbolic tree during the Lambeth Conference in 2022, the Communion Forest has grown into a global movement of Anglicans protecting forests, planting trees and restoring ecosystems.

A new ‘A to Z of the Communion Forest’ brings together stories from across the Anglican Communion, from Australia to Zimbabwe, showing how churches are caring for creation in ways shaped by their own communities and environments.

Global Facilitator Nicholas Pande said: ‘It shows we are not just telling others what to do – we are planting, restoring and protecting creation ourselves.’

Such a great beginning of a new farm in Enoggera, seeded by Baroona Farm. Well done Anglican Parish of Greenhills!

The harvest stats are in for the financial year 2025-2026 and our final year of production as Baroona Farm. A whopping 780kg of fresh, chemical free produce was grown, harvested and distributed to Brisbanes most nutritionally vulnerable!
The hot, dry summer was particularly beneficial for our eggplants and chillies which equates to 280kg of this.
If we had to put a dollar figure next to the value of all these crops it would be around $15k. All of this from 300m2.
Well done to all the volunteers and supporters who worked so hard this last season at Baroona Farm. While this farm is no longer, we look forward to seeing these same beds continue to grow food to feed the hungry as part of the wider Grow Together Network around the Anglican Church Southern Queensland.

Jerry Coleby-Williams is such an inspiration with his food production in small areas. There is so much potential for growing food to feed the hungry from under-utilised church land.

Today was a very big day for Baroona Farm as it has started to take flight to new lands! Machinery has been busily moving garden beds onto trucks to be delivered to four sites in the Anglican Church Southern Queensland - Anglican Parish of Greenhills Anglican Parish Sandgate-Northpoint Freshwater Anglican Parish and Coomera Anglican College All these communities are receiving wicking beds as the development of the Grow Together Network takes off. The sadness of the final moments of Baroona Farm are overshadowed by the hope of more farms and gardens developing in Southeast Queensland to feed the hungry, grow communities of hope, combat the effects of climate change and activating under-utilised church land.

This morning, Samuel (Grow Together Network coordinator) visited Green P farm located in the centre of Deagon Racecourse. This has been an incredible community project between a number of groups in the area, including Brisbane City Council and the racecourse management, to provide land, water and an abundance of manure to families growing food. The majority of the farmers at Green P farm are migrants and so grow culturally important crops to feed their families. 80 families are involved and fed from this farm! However, this is another site which is soon to be developed. The Grow Together network is currently in conversations with Anglican churches nearby to establish farms there so that these families can continue to grow food but also have a welcoming community to support them. Stay tuned for updates with this space!!

The movement of Baroona Farm to new farms and garden projects has begun with the Grow Together Network. Yesterday, volunteers young and ‘older’ worked tirelessly to relocate valuable soil and compost to a stockpile at St John’s Anglican Church in Enoggera ready for their new urban farm project ‘Green Hills Farm’.
Like a seed pod bursting open and casting seed far and wide, Baroona Farm is seeding new farms on Anglican Church land across southeast Queensland. The values of the new network continue the legacy of Baroona Farm and are simple - feed the hungry; build communities of hope; regenerate local ecosystems; activate church land.
