4. Community Welfare (relations and development). CHARACTER – The FPOQ:
• is a voluntary incorporation of Polish community organisations in Queensland that works collaboratively with the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Queensland,
• upholds the values and principles of democracy,
freedom, justice and respect for human rights,
• proactively supports each of its member organisations equally, without prejudice nor vested interest,
• is an advocate for interests and endeavours that clearly promote Polish language, history and culture, and
• is apolitical (the incorporation shall not in any way support or actively assist any political party). OBJECTS – The FPOQ:
• represents the Polish community in Queensland, defends its rights, promotes its interests and provides support to Polish activities within Queensland,
• liaises and co-operates with people, institutions and organisations in Poland,
• promotes the Polish language, traditions and culture in Queensland,
• raises awareness of Poland, its culture, history and current position in Australian society by promoting Polish literature, music and all forms of the arts,
• raises awareness of the contribution of Polish migrants to the wellbeing of Queensland and of Polish cultural heritage in Queensland,
• co-operates with organisations from outside the Polish community in Queensland whose aims are consistent with the principles, aims and objectives of the Association,
• promotes loyalty to Australia within the Polish community,
• encourages and assists Australians of Polish origin to actively participate in all spheres of Australian life,
• supports Polish youth development through sporting, social, cultural and educational activities,
• acts as a forum for the development of Polish community activities in Queensland,
• sources grant funding, establishes funds and foundations, and makes gifts, donations, and loans for any purpose that is consistent with the aims of the incorporation,
• invests any income not immediately required for fulfilling any of its objectives, and
• does all such other acts and things as may appear incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objectives. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
FPOQ is not in a position to provide financial or material assistance to individual persons or Polish organisations beyond Queensland. LOCATING MISSING PERSONS
The Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages and the Australian Red Cross are the most effective sources of information and assistance when attempting to locate missing or long-lost relatives.
