As participants and providers face announcements of changes to how disability services are going to be delivered and funded, great organisations must ask themselves how they can stand out amongst so many options.
We solve this problem by creating space for great organisations at Australia’s largest disability events, not just expos, but huge community events as we navigate changes.

Don’t let your organisation be missing as our community gets NDIS right and ensures every child, adult and family living with disability receives essential services.

New survey on the under-16s social media ban
Last December, the Federal government passed a world-first law to restrict under-
16s in Australia from accessing social media.
Now – five months later – our friends at Children and Young People with Disability
Australia (CYDA) wants to know how the social media ban has impacted you or your
child?
Their short new survey is for:
 Children with disability under 16
Young people with disability aged 16 to 25
Parents, family members, and caregivers of under-16s
Has the change made you or your child feel safer online?
Is it harder to connect with friends and community?
Have you encountered any accessibility issues?
Or are things mostly the same?
These are questions not enough people are asking, but the answers matter.
Your voice and insights can help make sure the new law actually works for children
and young people with disability in Australia.
If you're a parent or caregiver with multiple children, you can complete the survey
more than once (or ask your children to take it themselves).
Take the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MN5RL8T
It closes Sunday, 24 May.

Our Reasonable. Necessary. Ordinary campaign is asking community to share “What does the NDIS make possible in your everyday life?”

We've compiled a selection of anonymous member and community stories that focus on some of the Reasonable. Necessary and Ordinary ways you use your NDIS supports that benefit Work and Family or assisting with Community and Socialisation.

"Because of the NDIS I can be the mom my kids deserve."
"Because of the NDIS I can work, live at home with my children and contribute to society."
"NDIS has changed my life. I went from a psychiatric hospital admission every 3 months to years and counting."
"As a NDIS participant I would probably inject over $100 to $150 a week of my own money into the Australian economy."

Five months on from the government ban on anyone under 16 accessing social media, what’s actually changed for young people?

Our friends at CYDA want to find out with their new national survey for:

Children with disability under 16
Young people with disability aged 16 to 25
Parents, family members, and caregivers of under-16s

Has the new law made you feel safer online?
Are you finding it harder to connect with mates?
Have you encountered any accessibility issues?
Or are things mostly the same?

These are questions not enough people are asking, but the answers matter.

🔗 Take Children and Young People with Disability Australia’s survey today: https://buff.ly/8pvanGe

(…or share it with someone you know.)

Your voice can help make sure the law meets the needs of children and young people with disability all across Australia.

“Budgets are about choices. This Budget chooses to directly cut the supports people with disability rely on to get out of bed, go to work, care for their children and participate in community life. You cannot build an inclusive community with budget savings that damage people with disabilities’ basic rights.” – PWDA Acting CEO Megan Spindler-Smith

PWDA says the Federal Budget cuts supports people with disability rely on to live ordinary lives, without delivering the equivalent alternatives people are being told will replace them.

People with disability understand the need for reform, but the Government has made a political choice to cut supports before building the systems people would be expected to rely on.

This Budget has failed to provide adequate investment or certainty around Foundational Supports, despite proposing to move increasing numbers of people outside the NDIS.
