Materials:
1 x Scissors
1 x Metal Stem
2 x Piece of wire
1 x Roll of flower tape
16 x Pipe cleaners (12x one colour, 4x another colour)
5 x Stamens
Step 1: Start off by making the petals. Grab two of the twelve pipe cleaners and fold both in half and one in half again.
Step 2: Bring the two pipe cleaners together by interlocking them at the fold and then pinch and twist as tightly as you can. Make sure the folded bit is facing downwards.
Step 3: Fold the two longer sides down while holding the petal as tightly as you can before twisting all loose ends at the bottom to keep it secure, once or twice should do the trick. Use the curve of your thumb to give the petal a bend. Repeat five times for six total petals
Step 4: Grab the stamens and fold them in half before wrapping them tightly with some of the wire. Then, wrap the stamens onto the metal stem using the remaining wire.
Step 5: Wrap the petals around the stem to cover the exposed wire and stamen strings. Wrapping the petal “legs” clockwise and anticlockwise helps to keep things secure. Make sure to evenly distribute the petals
Step 6 (leaves): Grab two of the four pipe cleaners of a different colour and fold both in half. Interlock both pipe cleaners and give it a twist. Fold all ends downwards and twist three of the legs together so that you have one leg sticking out. Use your thumb to give the leaves a bend. Repeat twice
Step 7: Add both leaves to the metal stem and tie it tightly with a piece of wire before wrapping the whole stem and exposed pipe cleaner with flower tape (the tighter you pull, the sticker it gets).
