Happy Mothers Day!

Compassionate God
Spirit of all that is sacred,
Breath of this ancient land,
We come with quiet hearts.

We honour this little one,
Kumanjayi little baby,
Held in love beyond words,
Held now in the great mystery
That cradles all life.

We hold her family in compassionate prayer
May they be wrapped in deep care and love,
In the arms of kin,
In the strength of ancestors,
In love that does not end.

Sacred love, be with the community in their grief,
hold them with your compassion.
May your Spirit of Peace,
settle upon the land of this community,
and weave her way through the peoples.

In the name of the crucified and risen one,

Lest we forget.
Today we remember the courage, sacrifice, and lives forever changed by war.

As we honour the past, we must be challenged in the present. The uncomfortable truth is that conflict and war continues to shape our world, too many lives continue to be lost.

May we honour and remember with a commitment to do better.

On the Road to Emmaus, Jesus models acts of sacred presence and deep listening, Creating a safe space for the confusion and grief of the two on the road to share their experience.

Our journey of faith calls us to be present, to be willing to rest in the space of mystery and simply listen.

Take time to rest in the mystery, to be present, to listen deeply, breathe and notice. It is often in the stillness and the silence that we encounter the mystery of God.
