Matt Parr from Hear and Say has been in Townsville running evening training on children’s hearing, how we talk with children, and room acoustics. He then went back during the day to see how small changes to the space can make a big difference to listening and learning. 🏫✨

Earlier this week, our EGM Carly Irving Dolan spoke before the Parliamentary Committee on the Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) Registration Bill 🏛️

Australian Childcare Alliance Queensland supports ECT registration 💙 It's a meaningful way to recognise the expertise and professionalism of our Early Childhood Teachers, strengthen child safety, and build community confidence in early learning, just as other states and territories already do.

What matters most to us is getting the framework right for our sector. Here's what we raised:
✅ Recognising ACECQA-approved qualifications
✅ Implementation that reflects how ECEC services actually work
✅ Practical mentoring, induction and transition support
✅ Helping new ECTs enter, and stay in, the profession
✅ Fair opportunities for every ECT, wherever they work
✅ Avoiding unintended workforce pressures
✅ Managing costs and impacts for services
✅ Recognising the realities of small, independent, community-based, regional and remote services

We're encouraged by the collaboration between the Department of Education, the Queensland College of Teachers and the sector, and we'll keep these conversations going as implementation rolls out 🤝

We love seeing our Certificate III bursary make a real difference 💙

Congratulations to Caterina Deidda, who’s been using the extra breathing room the bursary provides to focus on her studies and build her skills, knowledge and confidence as a future early childhood educator.

Investing in the people entering our sector is investing in the children and families they’ll go on to support. We’re so proud to back learners like Caterina, and we can’t wait to see where her journey takes her.

Thank you to College for Australian Early Childhood Educators for sharing Caterina’s story and for the important work you do in growing Queensland’s early childhood workforce.

Sometimes, the right support can make a meaningful difference.
