Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning for our ANZAC DAY Services.

Your presence at Dawn Service, March or Main Service, shows the strength of our community and our shared commitment to honouring those who served, those who fell, and those who continue to serve today.

ANZAC Day holds a profound place in our national story. It reminds us of:
- Courage and sacrifice — the extraordinary bravery shown by ordinary Australians and New Zealanders in the most difficult circumstances.
- Mateship — the unbreakable bonds formed on the battlefield that continue to define our national character.
- Service and duty — the willingness of generations to step forward in defence of our freedoms and values.
- Remembrance — our responsibility to ensure their stories are never forgotten.

As we reflect today, we honour not only the ANZACs of Gallipoli but all who have served in conflicts, peacekeeping missions, and humanitarian operations across the decades.

Thank you again for standing with us in remembrance.

The horrific act of violence and terror at Bondi Beach is deeply shocking and distressing. Our hearts and thoughts are with the victims, their families and all who witnessed or were affected by the attack.

Yesterday we said thankyou to all our volunteers, without your help we couldn't support the veterans in our Nundah Northgate Community. Special thanks to Garth, Melissa for their work with badge sales and Joanne from Nundah-Northgate Scout Group. Thanks to RSL Brisbane North District President Mark Oreal who presented our volunteers with certificates of appreciation. We hope everyone had a safe and Merry Christmas. See you in the new year. "We must bridge the generational divide. Too many younger veterans have seen the RSL as irrelevant to their needs. We need to earn their trust through action, not rhetoric. This means addressing contemporary issues: transition support, employment pathways, mental health services, research that provides evidence-based services and support, and cutting through bureaucratic barriers that drive veterans to despair.”
