Only one more week to come along for a chat or something cool for a gift at our climate action stall at Northey Street Organic Farmers Market - we have beautiful Qld Nature Refuge calendars, home made shopping bags in two sizes, T shirts and hand made bird and bugs jewellery too. This Sunday 21 December Paul and Adrian would love to chat about what we can each do in our homes to save money and also save the planet - by staging our changeovers to electric appliances like hotwater, solar, and more. (spoiler alert: this is more common sense than rocket science.)

Desperate measures for deperate times - as Labor looks to line up anyone at all to pass their dodgy inadequate new nature laws, we need to keep speaking up - about how they don’t protect nature any better than the current outdated rubbish ones. You know it stinks if the mining industry are happy with it and so are the climate deniers in the opposition.

BREAKING: Federal Environment Minister Murray Watt was in Brisbane today spruiking his secret new environment laws — cooked up with the mining lobby. 🤯 We tracked him down to ask: when will he stop approving new coal and gas mines?

In our discussion Watt said that climate change is a dire situation but Australia will continue to sell coal and gas as long as there is a market for it (even if it cooks us all in the process). He committed himself to continuing to work with the mining lobby to draft the new environment laws.

These laws aren’t for nature — they’re for fossil fuel companies. We’re calling it out.

We need to keep building mass movement power to tackle this corruption. It is clear Labor are working for their corporate mates, not the people.

Today the government just announced its 2035 emission reduction target of 62-70% - a weak target that is too little, too late.
Young people, First Nations people, Pacific Islanders and those on the frontlines of the climate crisis cannot afford Labor’s continued inaction and support for the fossil fuel industry. See you there! (this is an all ages event too😁)
