🐾 Who remembers our sad mumma? 🐾

We called for a carer, and we called again. The thought of leaving her behind broke our hearts. Then Barb saw our post and didn’t hesitate to get in touch, offering this beautiful girl a safe place to land. Maeve’s ticket on the freedom bus was booked. ❤️

No longer a number, we’re so excited to introduce you to Maeve, our warrior queen.

Maeve was timid and unsure when she first arrived. This beautiful girl had been wandering the local town with her puppies in tow, doing everything she could to keep them safe, until a kind local took them in and made sure they were fed before they eventually made their way to the pound.

It’s clear Maeve cared beautifully for her babies, but food must have been hard to come by in those early days.

So, when foster mum’s lunch was left defrosting on the bench, Maeve decided it was simply too good an opportunity to miss! 😂

Yep folks, we have a counter surfer on our hands — and at least one of her daughters seems to have inherited the talent! 😂

Maeve has the most beautiful nature. Like many of our villagers, this may well be her first experience of life inside a home, so she’s still learning that not everything on the bench is part of the dinner menu.

And those LEGS! 😍

We now know exactly where her daughters got their model legs from. ❤️

Maeve, you’ve come a long way in such a short time, beautiful girl. Your new chapter is only just beginning, and we can’t wait to watch you blossom. 🐾❤️

Maeve will be looking for her home in the coming weeks.

🐾 Meet Heidi 🐾

This little girl was listed as a foxy x, is around 18 months old and 14.5kg. She is slowly discovering that life in the Village isn’t so scary after all. ❤️

Heidi can be a little timid, but she’s warming up a little more each day. The great outdoors? She’s got that sorted and was an absolute breeze on the lead for her first walk around the block! 🐾

Doors, however, not so much. Perhaps it’s her first time inside a house as Heidi isn’t quite convinced about the whole front door/back door/going inside business yet, so foster mum has had to pop her over the step and carry her to bed.

She was amazing on her first night and is already showing us what a sweet girl, she is.
And then there’s the crate…Heidi has taken one look and decided that’s definitely not for her so foster mum is working on that.

She’s also very keen to make friends with her foster sister Penny, a mini-Foxie. Penny is still considering the proposition 😂

One little step at a time, Heidi. We think you’re going to discover that being a Village girl is pretty wonderful. ❤️🐾

🐾 Let’s meet Fern 🐾

Fern found herself needing our help after her owner could no longer care for her and she found herself at the pound. 💔

We scooped her up and Lisa and her family didn’t hesitate to take her under their wing. ❤️

At around 3-4 months old, Fern is already ticking plenty of life goals since arriving:

🐱 Cat friendly ✅
🐶 Dog friendly ✅
💕 All-round sweetheart – absolutely! ✅

She sits beautifully when asked, has the softest fur, and is proving to be one very special little girl.

Someone is going to be incredibly lucky to add Fern to their family. 🥰

Fern will be adoption ready in the next couple of weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for her full bio

🐾 Meet Buffy 🐾

We met Chloe yesterday, so today it’s time to meet her sister.

Buffy is basically a giant lap dog with baby-giraffe legs. She’s a total snuggle bunny, a little shadow and very happy to be wherever her humans are.

Since arriving at her foster home, Buffy has discovered mirrors… and wasn’t quite sure who this pretty young lady was staring back at her.

Naturally, she gave her a little “woof!” just to introduce herself. 😂❤️

She’s is getting more confident and has started instigating playtime with her foster sister. She loves her food, has discovered a serious love of toys and empty toilet-roll holders, but isn’t quite convinced that crates are her thing!

She’s still working on her manners and toilet training, but she’s getting there.

We have a feeling this long-legged, goofy girl is going to keep foster mum entertained! ❤️🐾

We're thrilled to formerly introduce our first new Villager.

🐾 Meet Chloe 🐾

When we saw a very sad mumma dog and her puppies, we knew we had to bring them to the Village. ❤️

Thanks to some amazing carers, Chloe and her family jumped aboard the freedom bus and started their journey to a much brighter future. Her tail hasn't stopped wagging since she arrived.

As for her breed, your guess is as good as ours! Perhaps a splash of Mastiff, some Dane and a generous helping of long model legs! Chloe is around 16 weeks of age.

Whatever she is, we know one thing for sure… she’s rescue, and rescue is our favourite breed. ❤️

Chloe is already proving to be a little trooper. She’s doing brilliantly with her toileting, is submissive with other dogs, LOVES her toys and happily entertains herself with a ball 🎾

She likes to know where everyone is and doesn’t want to miss out. She’s incredibly sweet and will happily sit for a treat, even though this poor girl is absolutely ravenous.
Foster mum will be getting some good nutrition into her and putting some much-needed weight back on those long legs.

She’s also learning all about those mysterious creatures called cats. 🐱

Chloe will be adoption ready in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned if this black-and-white beauty has caught your eye!

Happy Saturday, Villagers! 🐾

The moment you’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived… it’s time to meet our new arrivals! 🥰

A huge thank you to Critter Carriers for safely transporting our babies to the Village. 🚐❤️

As always, we can’t thank our amazing carers and team enough for continuing to turn up for these animals. We truly couldn’t do what we do without you. ❤️

To the pound staff who do what they can with the limited resources they have — we see you. But together, we can give these animals a tomorrow and make a real difference. 🐾

Over the coming days, we’ll introduce each of our new arrivals and reveal their new Village names. 🥰

For now… sit back, enjoy the moment and welcome our newest Villagers! 🐶🐱💙

🐾 Hi folks! 🐾

There’s a real buzz in the Village tonight because it’s only ONE more sleep until the Freedom Bus arrives! 🚌❤️

Tomorrow, our newest villagers will make their long journey to their new lives, where they’ll be welcomed by our team and their amazing foster carers and given everything they need to feel safe, happy and loved. 🏡

For some, it may be their very first time in a home.
But we’ve made them a promise…
It won’t be the last.

Tomorrow is the first day of their happy ever after.

A huge thank you to all our wonderful carers who will turn up tomorrow to cheer them home and show them what it feels like to be part of a family. ❤️

And we know you’ll all be waiting for that first glimpse of our new friends, so stay tuned for the much-anticipated arrival video this weekend! 🐾

Hi Villagers

We recently shared Katie’s Happy Tails, and we’ve just received an update on her sister Luna which we just had to share.

Just look at her!

From the dishevelled, sad dog who arrived on transport to the happy, beautiful girl she is today, Luna’s transformation has been nothing short of amazing. ❤️

And then her mum sent us these words:

“She’s the best thing that has ever happened to me.”

Well… if that doesn’t give us all the feels, we don’t know what does. ❤️

Luna, we always knew there was a happy girl hiding underneath those sad eyes. We’re so thrilled you found your person.

This is exactly why we do what we do. 🐾❤️

🚤🐾 CAPTAIN AXEL REPORTING FOR DUTY! 🐾🚤

We recently heard from Axel’s new family — you’ll remember him as Ted, the cheeky little stowaway who hitched a ride on our Freedom Bus. ❤️

Well, this boy is now living his absolute best life and apparently, he’s decided rescue dog was just the beginning of his career!

Axel has recently tried his paw at boating, and we’re told he’s a natural on the water.

He’s already mastered the important captain skills:
✅ Looking handsome
✅ Enjoying the views
✅ Keeping a close eye on the crew
✅ Probably waiting for someone else to do the actual work

At this rate, we reckon Captain Axel will be ready to take the helm in no time! ⚓️🐶
We couldn’t be happier seeing our former stowaway living the life he always deserved. ❤️

From Freedom Bus passenger to first mate… what an adventure! 🐾🚤

Our good boy Jasper received a LOT of enquiries, and we’re absolutely thrilled to share that he has found his home! And what a perfect home it is. 🏡💙

When a dog receives lots of applications, we take the time to carefully work through each one. It’s never simply about who applies first — it’s about finding the right match for that individual dog, considering their personality, quirks and what they need to truly thrive.

Jasper can be a little anxious, so finding a family who understands him, will give him time to settle and let him build his confidence was incredibly important to us.
And when we found his family, we just knew. ❤️

Sometimes you meet the right people, and you can picture exactly where a dog belongs and that’s how we feel about Jasper.

We couldn’t be happier for our handsome boy and his new family.

We also can’t go past giving a huge thank you to Lisa and her family for opening their home and helping yet another Village dog. Without our incredible foster carers, happy endings like this simply wouldn’t be possible.

We love our carers! ❤️
