Join us for our October Working Bee!

We're back on October 25th, from 8am to 10am, with another working bee. We'll be doing a few different tasks this time. We'll be removing w**ds from amongst our existing plantings along the creek's edge. The recent bit of rain means we can finally start planting again; we'll aim to get some new plants in the ground to fill in the gaps.

It'll be a relaxed, fun morning in the shade along the creek. We'll have gardening equipment available (shovels, mattocks, gloves) but feel free to bring your own. Otherwise, all you need is a hat and water bottle. We look forward to seeing you there!

Well it's not much, but after months without water in the creek, it's nice to get a little trickle going. Here's to more rain and better conditions for planting!

Thanks to everyone who came along on Sunday for our September working bee!

While the ground was too dry for planting, we got stuck in with w**ding the site. Our small but mighty group of volunteers helped clear the masses Cobblers' Pegs from the edge of the bike path, and removed Creeping Inch Plant and Guinea Grass from within our site.

We also discovered a number of native seedlings in amongst our larger trees, including Foambark (Jagera pseudorhus), Celerywood (Polyscias elegans) and Native Caper (Capparis arborea). These are all vital native species and it's amazing to see them self-seeding in our site!

Thanks again to everyone who joined us on Sunday. I'm hoping for some rain next month, but regardless, we'll be back with another working bee. Stay tuned!

One week to go! It's in writing now; our next working bee will be in a week's time, on Sunday 27th of September.

We'll be removing w**ds and taking care of our local environment, and would love your help. It'll be a relaxed morning, you can bring gloves and shovels but we'll have some available. No bushcare experience needed, we'll show you everything you need to know.

If you're interested, it'll be from 8am to 10am at Glen Harding Park, Ashgrove. Please reach out if you have any questions.

I know it's been a while, but I'm back! We've got a working bee coming up on the 27th of September, 8am to 10am at Glen Harding Park. There'll be plenty to do, to beautify the space along our bikepath - we'd love to see you there!

Hi folks, sorry for the late notice. Unfortunately, due to circumstances affecting the availability of our group leaders, the working bee tomorrow will be cancelled. Sorry for the inconvenience , we should be having another working bee next month.

We're back for April! Come join us for our April working bee this weekend, at Dawn Street Park (upstream from the Coopers Camp Road bridge). We'll be removing w**ds along the banks of Ithaca Creek, creating better habitat for our native wildlife. If you're coming, bring a hat, waterbottle and sunscreen. You can bring a shovel or mattock for digging, but we'll have some available for you to use. Hope to see you there!

Announcing our next working bee! Come and join us on Sunday 22nd of March at 8am, for a morning of w**ding and planting along Ithaca Creek. We'll be meeting along Dawn Street and working on improving habitat on that side of the site. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Thank you to all our volunteers who came to help today!

We made some amazing progress in both w**ding and planting. We helped protect our rainforest slope by w**ding the edge at the bottom of it, keeping it safe from w**d invasion. We also put in around 100 plants, to help establish native forest in one of our toughest spots! This spot has poor soil, is underneath several large trees, and has been a difficult one to plant in before.

This time, we put in some fast-growing and (hopefully) bombproof natives, including Acacia melanoxylon (Blackwood), Trema tomentosa (Poison Peach), Hibiscus heterophyllus (Native Rosella), Lomandra longifolia (Spiny-Leaved Mat Rush), Solanum aviculare (Kangaroo Apple) and Glochidion ferdinandi (Cheese Tree). These will provide a quick native canopy, stopping w**ds from re-emerging and allowing for further plantings.
