October is Mental Health Awareness month and to raise awareness and start conversations the West End Stitch Up Group and Sue-Anne created this incredible quilt with the theme โ€˜What helps keep us wellโ€™.

Each square has been lovingly created by local women and features a piece of what keeps them well. From stitching with friends, being in nature, keeping active to
chatting with a loved one.

Let us know what keeps you well or start a conversation with the people around you. ๐Ÿ’™

To further support mental health awareness month they are raising funds to support Beyond Blue through donations and purchasing raffle tickets to win this snuggly quilt.

Pop on by our Annerley store to view this gorgeous piece in person and to grab a raffle tickets or donate towards their cause. ๐Ÿ’™

Our recent donation to Womenโ€™s Legal Service Qld has helped 80 women access support from the Financial Abuse Prevention Unit (FAPU) ๐Ÿ’•

FAPU provides free, specialist support including:
โ€ข Specialist counselling and financial educationโ€จโ€ข Guidance on budgeting, rights and safety strategiesโ€จโ€ข Casework, advocacy and support to help women regain control of their finances and their futures

THE IMPACT ๐Ÿ’ซ

In FY24/25, FAPU supported 355 clients and helped clear $3,059,510 in debt!

Do-Op Shopโ€™s cumulative donation of $27,100 will help approximately 80 women experiencing financial abuse access specialist casework, advocacy and support services.

And this support matters because financial abuse is often the barrier that prevents women from escaping violenceโ€ฆ

โ€ข 1 in 4 women return to an abusive home because they lack financial security or safe housing.โ€จโ€ข For mothers, that figure increases to more than 1 in 3.โ€จโ€ข Women frequently discover significant debts only after leaving a violent relationship.

By removing financial barriers, FAPU helps women and children escape violence and avoid returning to abuse.

Weโ€™re incredibly proud that the money raised through Do-Op is helping provide women with something so important: the financial security, support and opportunity to build a safer future. ๐Ÿฉท
