Teneriffe Lions Pantry

Much like Odysseus on his way home, after our official relaunch a fortnight ago, we went on a diverting journey, so to catch you up on some things that have happened:

1. The Village Voice Brisbane gave us the space to do a nice write up in their latest issue.

2. Donation bins were placed in the electorate offices of Cr Vicki Howard and MLA Grace Grace MP.

3. At their last dinner meeting, many items of food were donated by the Teneriffe Lions Club to the pantry via New Farm Neighbourhood Centre.

4. NFNC started distributing foods!

Donations by the public are very much welcome, you can drop off shelf stable, in date food at Cr Howard's or MP Grace's electorate offices and directly at the NFNC during their respective opening hours, and via getting in touch with the Teneriffe Lions via their email, page, or here. If you can spare a sweet treat (shelf stable remember) it will not be turned away either!

Exciting news … the closed Brunswick Street Pantry has now reopened down the road as “Teneriffe Lions Pantry”. Teneriffe Lions Club is partnering with New Farm Neighbourhood Centre to support their Food and Toiletries Relief Program. Items donated by the public will be distributed to those in need by NFNC staff.
Members of this generous community are invited to resume their non-perishable grocery donations, which can be made at NFNC or at the offices of Vicki Howard and Grace Grace MP.

Please be advised that the Brunswick Street Pantry has been removed. Teneriffe Lions Club is currently investigating alternative arrangements to help those in food need.
Drop us a note if you can suggest alternative locations. 😮‍💨

Congratulations to Naya and Beckett for their weekend Lemonade Stand. They beat their record and made over $650 for the Brunswick Street Pantry.

What a great recipe for Community Service: mix a few Teneriffe Lions Club lemons with a proactive family, and serve to a generous community. Well done all involved. 🍋 🍋 🍋
