Flashback Friday (on a Tuesday! š°ļø)
On Monday, 25 August, the Kingās in Pink (KIP) student team had the incredible opportunity to visit the Princess Alexandra Hospital and tour their world-class research labs. š
Anna Norfolk, the 2025 KIP Convenor, shared, āAttending the PA Hospital was an eye-opening experience, allowing us to witness firsthand the groundbreaking work being done in breast cancer research."
The team was guided by Dr Simpson and her research group, who showed them where cancer cells are grown for testing, the state-of-the-art vaccine research facility currently under construction, and even introduced them to the PhD students whose future work will be directly supported by our donations. š¬āØ
Anna went on to say, āItās easy to think that our fundraising efforts might not have a huge impact, but the PA Research Foundation showed us that even smaller donations, like $4,000 or $5,000, are vital in helping researchers apply for grants and push forward the kind of research that could lead to a cure.ā
We couldnāt be prouder of our Kingās community, who raised an incredible $25,000 through the Kingās in Pink Fun Run/Walk this year. š This amount will directly support Project Pink in their mission to find better treatments and ultimately a cure for breast cancer.
