Aprils competition has seen the decline of our whiting as they depart for warmer waters, and plenty of bream as the colder months roll on.

Special mentions to Shep, who is now on the scoreboard, and Cal for his nice haul of flattys for his first comp of the year.

Gary took the chocolates today with his impressive haul that only took him 4 hours on Saturday morning.

Murray came second with another solid catch, and Job snagged another 3rd place with his bream.

Despite the wind and rain our boys have done us proud today!

Massive congratulations to big Job with his first ever bag of bream. He has come a long way in only a couple of years of fishing. Well done mate!! A well deserved 2nd place.

Dan managed to hang on despite some engine problems and would have got his bag of whiting if he could count. Maybe take a calculator next time… got a sneaky 3rd place…

Murray has stunned us all with his massive catch of spotty/ barred Grunter, bream and a few stragglers to take out his second comp in a row! Lovely work mate!

Great to see our anglers taking advantage of some great water after the rain.

Can’t wait until April comp!

Februarys comp has come and gone, with same great weigh ins from Murray, Dan J and Rod!

Murray has taken out Februarys comp with a hall of 14 bream, 2 Grunter and 2 whiting.

Dan J came in an easy 2nd with his catch of whiting, bream, snapper and Grunter.

Special mention to new member Rod who has got his first points as a rookie with a great catch of flathead, and Mick has got some points on the board with a couple of whiting.

Quite a tough weekend locally, with a few members opting to fish further away to secure their catch; it might not be a bad idea for coming comps, as our little creek seems to bit a bit lacking in fish over the last 2 months…

Bring on the March competition!!!

A massive turnout for our first competition of the year. Great hauls from new members Dave and Damo, Job has backed up his Rookie of the year last year with some great fish as well.

Jake has stormed into the lead fo Flatty of the year with a whopping 66cm (narrowly beating the Flatty Whisperer Benny by 1cm) and Jeff stunned the crowds with an absolute horse of a whiting at 38cm. Both will be tough to beat, and now they both have targets on their back from now…

4th place went to new member Dave, 3rd to big Job (because he threw back a legal spotted Grunter) 2nd to new member Damo, and 1st went to last years winner Dan.

A fantastic weigh in and a good bunch of people to call our club mates. Can’t wait to see what people catch next comp!

Some good weigh ins today from our Anglers, a big shout out to Kongo, a member from day one, for weighing in for the first time! Well done mate!

Big Job got the runner up with a catch of bream, whiting and 2 flounder…

Dan got the gong this month with 15 whiting and 8 bream.

A big thanks to Gary’s legendary beer battered whiting, never had anything like it.

Octobers comp saw the return of the Summer whiting, with a few random Bream and Squire in for good measure.

Gary had a great haul out of Bribie, with some nice spotted Grunter and squire on the yabby banks.

Murray managed to find a few Bream, and our guest junior angler Jordan weighed in some very nice Bream, including his personal best.

Dan managed to beat Gary for once, with haul of whiting and Bream out of Nudgee. 1 comp to go, November is just around the corner!

Septembers competition was interesting, some very nice fish caught whilst battling the snot w**d. Gary got the chocolates, with Dan trailing in second. Jacob and his son weighed in the current bream of the year with a 36cm bream, well done mate! Dan also got his PB with a 47cm barred Javelin. We will see everyone again for our October comp!

We couldnt ask for better weather for our anglers today for our May competition. A few members bagged out on flatties, with 3 new flatty of the year records busted in consecutive order!!!

Life of Brian got a whopper at 62cm, then Benny the Flatty whisperer knocked him off the podium with a 63.5cm beast. Last up Dan lobbed in a 66cm to take the lead on Flatty of the year…. Plenty of great flatty fishing months ahead to beat that length!

Notable mentions go to:

Mal - for his first weigh in, well done on the flatty mate!

Benny - cracking snapper!

Murray - for grinding out the lonely midnight hours for his bream!

Dan got the win in the end, with big Murray coming in close second.

Well done to all that fished and came to the weigh in!

See you all next month.

Our second April comp has gone well, with a few perfect mornings despite the rain. Our treasurer Kenny came in hot with a load of bream; best catch to date!
A great showing from Jim and Brian who both got their bag in flatheads, well done lads!

Special mention to Jacob who beat his previous record of biggest flatty of the year with a now current (and easily beatable) measurement of 55.5cm.

But the chocolates go to Murray who has been working his butt of and has been putting in the hours. He pipped Kenny at the post with a great haul of bream, whiting and flathead. Well done Murray!!

Aprils 1st competition had anglers working against random squalls of intense rain, but yielded great results! A great showing from Dan J had everyone worried with his haul of 20 bream, but Dan R pipped him at the post with a solid showing of the ever elusive summer whiting. Great effort all round guys, can’t wait to see happens in 2 weeks!
