Today, on National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day, we proudly celebrate the strength, resilience, culture and voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
This year’s theme, Living Our Truth, reminds us of the importance of truth-telling, sharing knowledge across generations, and creating spaces where children’s voices are heard, respected and valued. Every child’s story matters, and every child deserves to grow up with a strong sense of identity, belonging and connection to their family, community and Country.
At Beyond Behaviour Community Services, we recognise that culture is not simply something to celebrate on one day—it is a vital source of strength, healing and wellbeing. We are committed to walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, families and communities in ways that are respectful, culturally responsive and grounded in genuine partnership.
Today, we honour the families, carers, communities and Elders who continue to nurture, guide and pass on culture, language, stories and wisdom to the next generation.
May we all take the time today to listen, learn and celebrate the incredible children who carry the world’s oldest continuing cultures into the future, and may we always communicate with kindness and respect.
