Young Economists Queensland

Young Economists Queensland The Young Economists (QLD) group is a society of young professionals working in economics and policy. After all, it is not just about what you know.

We welcome students and economists from all of Queensland to become members via https://esaqld.org.au/index.php?action=join The Young Economists are just that - a group of young economists working and studying in Queensland. The Economic Society of Australia (Queensland) Inc started the group in 2009 to provide professional development to economists in the first decade or so of professional life,

and to provide these people with a strong network of contacts throughout SEQ. We see ourselves as filling a gap between university based economics groups and the full professional Economic Society. We seek membership from senior university economics students and new-to-the-profession economists. Professional development in events to date has focused on analytical and critical thinking skills, presentation skills and career planning. These events are held in an informal, social and relaxed environment to maximise the input by participants and facilitate the flow of ideas and discussions. The Young Economists group promotes synergies between organisations by providing members with contacts in a wide range of industries. Members of the Young Economists hail from many universities and now work in SEQ organisations ranging from government, consulting, regulation, energy, resources and financial services. Members of the Young Economists have the opportunity to build connections that could assist them throughout their career. Young economists exists thanks to the support from our sponsors. There are many benefits to sponsorship, including promotion on our website and at our events, as well as having access to one of Brisbane's most vibrant networks of young professionals and students. If your organisation would like to consider sponsoring the Young Economists, please send us an email at [email protected].
