💙 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗽𝘆: 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

When we think about philanthropy, it's easy to think first about financial donations. But some of the most meaningful gifts we can give are our time, compassion, and friendship.

Karinne Cilento, who has been a volunteer member of the QCF Sunshine Coast Committee since 2023, demonstrates this beautifully. Each week, she visits Rita through the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, building a friendship that has grown over several years.

Their story is a reminder that philanthropy isn't only about giving money. It's about contributing to the wellbeing of others in whatever way we can. Through conversation, companionship and genuine care, Karinne is helping reduce loneliness and social isolation while creating a meaningful connection that enriches both their lives.

A huge congratulations to our 2026 Queensland Community Philanthropist of the Year finalist, Tammy Robinson, on becoming a newly awarded OAM in recognition of her outstanding service to the community and to young people.

Recently dubbed "Queensland's kindest person" and affectionately known by many as Queensland's own "formal fairy godmother", Tammy has dedicated herself to ensuring that no young person misses their school formal because they don't have the means to access their perfect dress or suit.

As the Founder of Formally Ever After Qld Inc., Tammy has poured her heart and soul into the organisation since 2019, helping thousands of young people feel confident, valued and celebrated during one of life's most memorable milestones.

What makes Tammy's work even more remarkable is her commitment to extending this generosity beyond metropolitan communities, ensuring young people in First Nations communities such as Aurukun and Yarrabah also have access to the same opportunities, support and sense of belonging.

Tammy often speaks about wanting young people to know they are amazing, that they are enough, and that their community has their back. Through her kindness, compassion and unwavering dedication, she brings those words to life every day.

This honour is a fitting recognition of a woman who has changed countless lives through generosity, empathy and action.

Congratulations, Tammy, on your well-deserved OAM. Queensland is richer for people like you. 💜

Yesterday we were lucky enough to spend the day at Quoin Island Retreat and Turtle Rehabilitation Centre 5Km off the coast of Gladstone, in Queensland.

We visited Bob McCosker who won our 2023 Queensland Environmental Philanthropist Award (sponsored by Goodman Private Wealth) for establishing the turtle hospital that has to date treated over 730 injured and sick turtles!

Since then, Bob has worked tirelessly on many other projects, including establishing Bob’s Garage - a centre for men’s mental health, su***de prevention and domestic violence.

Thank you so very much for the difference you are making in regional Queensland!
