Day 3 (8 August 2026) of the Falcon College Cricket Camp was to consolidate the gains and progress made in the first 2 days.

The morning started with the coaches giving tips on how how to link the various aspects of the game, including game strategy, into a final product. These included skills learnt via net sessions, centre wicket practices, game situations and drills.

The girls played their game during the morning session before morning tea while the boys took field sessions and final classes for batting and bowling.

The girls then took their fielding masterclass until lunch time. Coaches Trevor Chappell and Peter Buchanan gave feedback to the parents at the stroke of lunch.

We would like to thank parents and the school for giving us the opportunity to coach these energetic girls and boys!

Suffice to say, the camp was a huge success 🙌 ✅️

Day 2 (yesterday, Friday 7 August 2026) activities started with a centre wicket practice for the 13-year old and older boys while the U13 Boys and girls teams participated in net practice. Coaches expertly guided the bigger boys to appreciate basic safe movement, importance of the position of the head, planning and ex*****on as well being part of a team or managing a team. Coaches explored a couple dozen of scenarios with the boys thoroughly.

The younger boys took a bowling and fielding masterclass and the girls team learnt how to hit the ball straight and later on for range.

All teams had the opportunity to partake in several workload management activities during the last session of the day.

What an explosive first day of the Falcon College Cricket Coaching Camp yesterday!

Zimbabwe Senior Women's all-rounder Loreen Tshuma and Coach Sean Manyuta assisted coaches Trevor Chappell and Peter Buchanan.

The day saw the introduction of basic skills assessment and training, grading stations according to age-based skills level, skills gap analysis, fine-tuning of skills and leveling up to the peer average.

We received close to 50 students, about ⅓ of whom were girls!
