Good to see our Rover Matthew doing great things!

Congratulations to Queensland Rover Scout Matthew Vella as he has recently been appointed to the role of Deputy Principal of SAIT.

Over the years, Matt has contributed to Scouting through a wide range of leadership and representative roles, including District Leader, Assistant Leader Trainer, and as a representative on the National Rover Council. He is currently an active Rover Scout and serves as Assistant Branch Commissioner (Adventurous Activities) within Queensland.

With a strong passion for outdoor education and training, particularly in paddling and water‑based activities, Matt is dedicated to supporting members to build skills, confidence, and capability in safe and engaging environments. In his new role as Deputy Principal of SAIT, Matt is looking forward to further promoting the wide range of formal qualification opportunities available within Scouting for both youth members and Leaders delivering the program.

We’re beyond proud to share that our Unit Leader, Max , has been appointed as an Assistant Leader Trainer (ALT) in the Scouts Queensland Branch of the Scouts Australia National Training Team!

This is a huge achievement, as Max is now the youngest ALT in Queensland and one of only four Rover ALTs in the state—and with this, Victor Rover Unit now represents 50% of Queensland’s Rover ALTs!

This appointment is not just a win for Max but also a testament to the strength of Rover leadership and the role young adults play in shaping the future of Scouting. We are so lucky to have him leading our unit, and we can’t wait to see what he achieves next!

Our Unit Leader Max spent the last 10 days hiking the Larapinta Trail in the Northern Territory! 10 days and 170kms through the West MacDonnell Ranges, The Larapinta Trail is one of Central Australia's most unique and spectacular attractions!

This trip was possible thanks to the support of the Pip and Dic Smith Learning Through Adventure Fund!

Its on again everybody! The Victor Scouts Halloween Party. This year we will be starting a little earlier from 5pm. We will be running a haunted house, lucky dip, spooky disco and a BBQ sausage sizzle. We will have credit card facilities for food, please bring gold coins / cash for the haunted house and other activities. Trick or Treaters welcome to join. We can't wait to have you all back for another year!

Last weekend we headed down to the sunny Gold Coast to celebrate 100 years of QLD Rover Scouts in style at St George's Ball!💃🕺🪩🥂

As a Unit, we are honoured to be announced as the winners of 'The Paddle' Award for 2023! We are so proud of ourselves for being recognised for this outstanding achievement and the growth of our Unit in less than a year.

We also got to celebrate our Unit Leader Max winning the 'Beyond the Horizon' Award. This award is presented to a new and upcoming Rover Scout! BRAVO Max, we are so proud of your dedication to Rovers.

On this ANZAC Day, we reflect on the immeasurable sacrifices made by those who fought for our freedom and the values we hold dear. It's important to take a moment to remember their bravery and honour their legacy.

As Victor Rover members Alex and Max did this morning at the dawn service and later the march. They were joined by members of the Queensland Branch Youth Council - QLD BYC awell as other Rover Units as part of Scouts Queensland .

As a unit we pay tribute to their service and sacrifice. Lest we forget.

A few weeks ago, Alex and Max from our Unit got the opportunity to visit Parliament and Attend the Annual Scouting on the Green Day. This event (hosted on BP's Birthday) allows scouts to share their experiences with their elected officials.
