Today is going to be one to remember.

🗺️ Day 6 - Daly Waters, NT to Timber Creek, NT

Day 6 will see the teams head west towards Timber Creek on the Buchanan Highway. On the way they’ll cross over Victoria River, NT’s largest river and drive right through Jasper Gorge, where the scenery will be quintessentially Australian - red cliffs, river gums and barren blue skies. Teams will roll into Timber Creek for a nights rest, home to an ancient boab tree (estimated to be many hundreds if not thousands of years old!!)

Yesterday was a very sad day for our family. 💔

Just 30 km out of Mt Dare, our beloved Peg the Pug suffered a catastrophic engine failure. Sadly, this is where her journey ends, and we’ve had to leave her behind to become part of the outback she loved to explore.

For the past four years, Peg has taken us on incredible adventures and helped create memories we’ll treasure forever. She wasn’t just a rally car—she was part of the family.

A huge shout-out to Marcus, who poured countless hours of blood, sweat and, today, tears into getting her rally-ready every single time. Your dedication never went unnoticed, and Peg always gave it everything she had.

The kids are heartbroken, and so are we. It’s hard to leave a mate behind.

Today when it was announced at briefing there was a sadness amongst the group… she has been a favourite and loved by many of our buddy group members over the years.

Thank you for every kilometre, every adventure and every memory, Peg. You’ll be missed more than words can say.

But as every rally enthusiast knows… there will be another Pug. ❤️🏁

🗺️ Day 3 - William Creek to Mount Dare

You read that right - it’s all unsealed today! Teams will continue along the Oodnadatta track and are likely to shred a few tyres along the way (thanks in advance, Air Support). Shortly after passing through Oodnadatta, home of the Pink Roadhouse, our Sh*tbox convoy will turn onto Mt Dare road. At this point, the teams are well into the Outback with the next significant town being Alice Springs! We’ll end up at Mount Dare Hotel - a place we’ve never rallied to before - situated just 10km from the SA/NT border, for a well deserved drink and a rest.

Day 1 … here we go

The first leg of the team’s epic journey takes them north through Port Wakefield, Port Pirie and Port Augusta (we like our ports here in SA). From Port Augusta they’ll get their first taste of unsealed roads as they continue north towards Parachilna, home of the iconic Prairie Hotel. Wish them well on their monumental 7-day journey towards Darwin!

Peg the Pug — Adelaide, we’re ready! 🐶🚗💨

We’ve officially arrived in Adelaide and reunited with our trusty steed, Peg the Pug! 🐶🇫🇷

Today has been all about getting organised — picking up Peg from the transporter, stocking up on a week’s worth of supplies and trying to convince ourselves that we’re actually prepared for what’s ahead. 😂

We’re now waiting for tonight’s Sh*tbox Rally driver briefing, where we’ll finally get to meet all the other teams and see just how questionable everyone else’s vehicles and life choices are!

We’ve already had our first bit of drama. One of our rally teammates Sh*tbox Rally - Team Mule Graters managed to jam a rear brake caliper today. 😬 Thankfully, Adelaide is a much better place to have that happen than somewhere in the middle of the desert! A new caliper was sourced, fitted in the car park of a Krispy Creme and the brakes bled — Peg’s teammate is back on the road and good to go. 🔧✅

Tomorrow it gets real… the desert is calling! 🏜️

Follow along with Peg the Pug as we attempt to make it across the country in a Peugeot that probably should have been retired years ago. 😂

Rally no.5 is in just a few weeks… Adelaide to Darwin.
Peg has been packed and is as ready as she will ever be.

We leave this rally with:
✅ a little air con
✅ an alternator that was replaced only to be put back in because it worked better
✅ roof racks
✅ heated blanket
✅ “was” a strange metallic sound that Marcus has solved 12 hours out from going on the trailer.

And a few extra tools and bits and bobs.

We would never say not to more donations for this great cause but would just love your support and good luck to get this girl through another rally. X

We are home! Alice Springs to Gold Coast. Buddy Group 7 first over the finish line! So yes, we won the rally! A great week! This Rally sure had some excitement… weather is something we haven’t really considered before. Lots of laughs, lots of memories and new friendships formed! Peg the Pug received a nomination for most authentic Sh*tbox - not sure if that is a compliment but we wouldn’t change her for anything (except maybe air con 😜). Thank you to everyone who donated along the way, it was a record breaking rally amount again with recognition of $60 million being raised since 2010!
