One week to go! This year, the South East Landcare Muster will bring together Landcare networks, volunteers and partners from across South East NSW on Tuesday 12 May in Moruya, under the theme "Partnerships in Action". For details and your last chance to register: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/south-east-landcare-muster-2026-tickets-1986284082159

Last year, the Muster was held locally at the Carrington Inn in Bungendore with the theme "Celebrating Opportunities for Collaboration with our Projects, Partners, People & Skills". The 2025 Muster featured some excellent breakout sessions and special guest speakers like Andrew Campbell. After the Muster in Bungendore, there was a second Regional Community of Practice Day at Gidgleigh Stock Reserve which was also a big hit - with Local Landcare Coordinators and volunteers participating in COVRAM training or cultural awareness and native plant use workshop with Rodney Freeman. Did you know Braidwood Urban Landcare Group (BULG) has been working on the Flood Creek Community Recreation Precinct since at least 2009?

Utilising the strip of land at the beginning of Bombay Road, on the south west side of Braidwood town, BULG volunteers have played a significant role in establishing:

- The Judith Wright Gardens at the end of Garvey Street (which was opened during the 2015 Two Fires Festival)
- The Community Gardens and now the subcommittee
- Outdoor Gym
- Footpath, footbridge and rock-armoured horse crossing at Hassal Reserve (all constructed with volunteer labour!)

Going forward, the group has plans to further improve footpaths and walking tracks on this block on the edge of Braidwood.

If you're interested in learning more about these projects, or getting involved in improvements to the Flood Creek Community Recreation Precinct, come along to the Braidwood Urban Landcare Group AGM.

It's on TOMORROW Sunday 3 May at 10am at the Judith Wright Gardens (end of Garvey St, Braidwood)! All welcome.

Ever wondered about the group of volunteers behind the Braidwood European Wasp Offensive (BEWO)? This is one of many Braidwood Urban Landcare Group (BULG) initiatives which has had a significant impact on the local Braidwood community and reduced the local European Wasp populations in recent years by providing access to traps and lure at cost.

If you'd like to find out more about the project and people behind it, consider coming along to the Braidwood Urban Landcare Group AGM this Sunday 3 May 10am at the Judith Wright Gardens (end of Garvey St Braidwood).

After a wonderful day in Sutton on Saturday 11 April, we have now completed our 'Below Our Knees' series for autumn 2026. To reflect on these recent Native Grassland & W**d Gatherings, we thought we'd share some photos and blog post from the event on 28th March.

On a cool autumn morning, Bywong and Wamboin community members came together to learn about the remarkable diversity and management of local grassy ecosystems...

🌱Landcare Working Bee Wrap‑Up at Dargues!
A massive thank you to the 22 volunteers who came for a full day Working Bee at our Nursery Hub located at the Aurelia Metals Dargues site in Majors Creek on Tuesday 31 March.

After the recent March Tubestock Round Up, volunteers got stuck into the big job of sorting and packing down the season’s work. Together, they:

- unpacked over 530 propagation kits
- sorted and counted over 10,000 tubestock
- packed 61 boxes of recycled pots
- assembled six nursery benches
- shifted half a cubic meter of soil
- loaded almost 1,000 plants, guards and stakes back onto the trailer for redistribution across the Upper Murrumbidgee Landcare network.

An incredible team effort that’s set us up perfectly for our autumn plant distributions and the next growing season - we couldn’t do it without you! An incredible team effort to wrap up the 2025–26 growing season 👏
