Commonwood Farm is a volunteer-run association created to help care for and enhance the Braidwood Common.

Our mission is to support recreational access, environmental health, and sustainable local food production.

Hi all, the next Braidwood Common Second Sunday Working bee is this Sunday 8th December. Please join us if you are able to. 10.00am to about 12.00 noon.

We’ll have some tools but please bring your own if you can or wish to. Wear appropriate protective clothing (sunhats, gloves, good footwear ...there are snakes etc) and bring water and snacks as needed. Feel free to bring a BYO picnic lunch if you like.

Last month we began with some work on the Walking Trail. There is still plenty to do there so we will keep that as our focus for now.

Park at the Community Gardens or at Garvey St and find us along the path, downstream from the footbridge. Message to ask any questions. Hope to see you there.😁

Join us at Commonwood Farm’s Winter working bee in preparation for Spring and Summer. There will be jobs for all ages and all levels of ability. Come and lend a hand and enjoy the natural beauty on your doorstep.

DATE: Saturday September 2
SITE: The Braidwood Common, Bombay Road.
WHERE: The Green Wedges, opposite the Waste Transfer Station on Bombay Rd.
TIME: 10am until 2pm approximately

BYO water and sunscreen.

SUNDAY 27 NOVEMBER & SUNDAY 4 DECEMBER

TREEPLANTING AND FAMILY DAY

Join us at Commonwood Farm over two days to help establish two permanent firebreaks which will boost our fire preparedness and protect the township. Help us plant 190 trees and shrubs including cherries, figs, quince, pomegranate and assorted berries.

PROJECT SITE: The Braidwood Common, Bombay Road.

WHERE: Planting sites are in the paddocks on the right. Look out for the flags and signs set up on the day.

TIME: 10am until 2pm approximately

DATE: SUNDAY 27 NOV: Area 1: Opposite the Waste Transfer Station on Bombay Rd.

DATE: SUNDAY 4 DEC: Area 2: Before the Boppins Crossing turnoff – look for the signs.

Beautiful morning to get out and mow the walking trail. Great to see our non-destructive revegetation efforts thriving with all the rain. Knocked back some of the blackberry below the golfcourse lookout.
