Retirement can bring more freedom—but it can also mean stepping away from the routines, responsibilities and sense of purpose that work once provided.

Volunteering can be a meaningful way to begin a new chapter.
The knowledge, patience, life experience and skills you've built over the years can still make a difference to someone else. At the same time, volunteering creates opportunities to meet new people, stay involved in the community and continue feeling that your time and contribution matter.
At Australian Seniors Connected Care (AUSCC), we welcome people who would like to contribute their time and kindness to supporting older members of our community.
You don't need extraordinary skills to make a difference. Sometimes, simply being willing to listen, connect and care is enough.

申請澳洲長者照護，要等多久？💙
澳洲政府於 8月11日發布最新 Aged Care Wait Times Report（長者照護輪候時間報告），涵蓋 Support at Home 居家照護及 Residential Aged Care 住宿式長者照護。
報告統計長者從透過 My Aged Care 提出申請，到正式開始接受長者照護服務之間所需的時間。
對長者及家人而言，這也是一個重要提醒：申請長者照護服務可能需要時間。如果發現自己或家人未來可能需要額外支援，不妨及早了解可選擇的服務及申請流程，為未來做好準備。

How Long Are Australians Waiting for Aged Care? 💙
The Australian Government has released its latest Aged Care Wait Times Report, covering applications for Support at Home and residential aged care.
Published on 11 August 2026, the report measures the time between applying through My Aged Care and actually commencing aged care services.
For older Australians and their families, this is an important reminder that accessing aged care can take time. If you notice that you or a loved one may soon need additional support, learning about your options and starting the process early can help you plan ahead.
