HIGHLAND KITCHEN

🍐 Baked Pears with Honey, Cinnamon & Walnuts

There is something comforting about a simple dessert made slowly and shared warmly.

These baked pears are perfect for a cool Highlands afternoon and make a beautiful finish to lunch with friends.

You’ll need:

4 ripe pears
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup chopped walnuts
A small k**b of butter
Greek yoghurt or vanilla ice cream to serve

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Halve the pears and remove the cores, then place them in a baking dish.

Drizzle with honey, sprinkle with cinnamon and walnuts, and add a small amount of butter to each pear.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until soft and golden.

Serve warm with Greek yoghurt or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Simple, comforting and made for slowing down.

Our sold-out Sumptuous Lunch (catered by the amazing Flavours By Dee) at Mulberry Farm will bring together an extraordinary group of local voices and musical talent.

We are delighted to welcome Skye Leckie AO, who will share stories and insights from her remarkable life, her connection to the Southern Highlands and the beautiful country estate hosting our gathering.

Joining us will be renowned hairstylist, entrepreneur and Highlands local Joh Bailey, bringing his warmth, creativity and unique perspective to the afternoon.

We will also hear from Peter Lewis about the meaningful work of the Southern Highlands Wildlife Sanctuary, supporting and celebrating the people helping to protect and care for our region’s precious wildlife.

Completing the experience will be beautiful live music from three exceptional local performers:
