Join us for the Historical Marker unveiling for Fenway Health on August 26 at 5:30pm 🎉

This marker is among the first in Massachusetts to recognize the history of an LGBTQIA+ health institution — marking Fenway’s origin as a volunteer-run neighborhood clinic that became a national leader in LGBTQIA+ health, HIV care, research, education, and advocacy.

The site and language were shaped by the people who lived it, including patients, longtime staff and volunteers, and community members who were there from the earliest days.

Watch the unveiling and remarks live on Fenway Health’s page — link coming soon!

Yesterday, we proudly unveiled a new Historical Marker honoring the North American Indian Center of Boston (NAICOB) NAICOB, recognizing decades of Indigenous leadership, advocacy, and community-building.

It was especially meaningful to celebrate alongside founders, elders, and community members whose vision helped create a lasting home for Native peoples in Boston.

As we look toward the next 250 years, we celebrate NAICOB’s enduring legacy and the communities who continue to shape a more just, connected, and inclusive future.

We’re proud to unveil “A Dedication to the Boston Public Schools Desegregation Movement” at 15 Beacon Street, on the 63rd anniversary of the “14 Demands” for equitable education led by Ruth Batson and NAACP Boston leaders.

This marker honors every advocate, organizer, and community member who fought for equal access to quality public education in Boston — and the students and families who endured and survived the racial violence during desegregation.

Sixty-three years later, their descendants gathered at that same site to say: we remember, and we honor you.
