Ryan is 11 years old, he was born in 2005 at just 28 weeks gestation, with a very rare disability known as Dup15q or Chromosome 15 duplication, complications of this have caused chronic lung disease, epilepsy, cerebral palsy and severe low muscle tone, leaving Ryan bed and wheelchair bound, he cannot weight bare, has no control of his limbs and no use of his mouth, tongue or throat -
Ryan require
s many daily therapies and life support equipment to keep him supported. He is PEG fed via a pump is perminanlty attached to an oxymeter, oxygen and requires suctioning of his airways and mouth and nose every 20 minutes he also requires chest physio every hour and needs many other daily medical interventions too. Ryan has spent at least half of his life in and out of ICU and requires even more medical interventions as he grows
