Who's heading to Mount Gambier this weekend for the Medieval Fair?

It all starts TODAY!

Gates open from 10:00am to 4:00pm Saturday and Sunday.
The FEAST is sold out, but there are plenty of tickets available for the fair each day.
Please buy from the humanitix site or at the gate. We take no responsibility for scams and we've been deleting many offers of ticket sales on the site but won't be able to keep up with them while we deliver the event. There is no reason to take the risk.

But for those FAQs I've been getting:
YES we accept companion cards, just show it at the gate.
NO you cannot bring pets unless it's a certified service animal.
PLEASE bring a gold coin to offer as donation to the carpark team for the Royal Flying Doctors.
NO you do not need to wear a costume, but you can. And we love it.
NO you cannot bring any metal costume weapons or anything sharp.
YES you'll have a great time. You always do.

This last weekend the East of SA and Border Show Societies Assoc held their AGM at Lucindale.

Bordertown for the second year running won the CWA Scone Competition congratulations to Tracy Hahn and all the best for your next competition at the Royal Adelaide Show in September 2026.

Congratulations also to Emmy Finlayson who won the Association trophy for the Young Judges Competition, where competitors compete in two or more shows.

What is a convenor? A convenor is someone who organises an exhibit section in the show. For example, Junior Art, Photography, etc.

What do I need to know? Your role will involve confirming or making any changes to each class in your section. You will need to set up your section before the show and pack up afterwards. During set-up, you will need to present all items ready for the public to view. You will also be responsible for finding a judge to judge the entries for a winner. If you get stuck there is a chief of convenor to help along the way.

Do I need to come to meetings? You don't need to come to meetings, but there are convenor meetings that it is strongly recommended to attend. These will provide more information, and if you have any questions, they will be answered. They don't happen as often as show meetings.

Do I need to help on show day? You will need to set up your section and pack up your section. This can be done before the show and after the show. If available, we would love your help to supervise the areas on the day, which may only be for an hour depending on your availability.

Here ye! Here ye!

The Bordertown Spring Festival and Show theme this year is Medieval/Highland Games, which means we're gonna play around with our category names (don't worry, we'll still tell you what they originally are), plus adding some more!

The Royal Chariot (Grand Champ) is up for grabs this year. Who will win? A knight in shining armor, a fair maiden or the town peasant?
