A big thank you to the Transgrid Community Partnerships Program for their continued support of the Bookham Rural Fire Brigade.

Since 2025, we’ve been fortunate to receive several grants providing some great equipment for the brigade.

Our latest Fire Station Equipment grant has provided us with a 500L fridge, STIHL cordless blower, two portable UHF radios with speaker mics, a fold-up gazebo and replacement AA lithium batteries for our torches and E-flares used at highway incidents.

All of this equipment will get plenty of use around the station, at training and at incidents.

We really appreciate the ongoing support from Transgrid and the Community Partnerships Program. It makes a real difference to our brigade and our ability to support the community.

Thanks from everyone at Bookham Rural Fire Brigade!

Bookham Brigade held another training night earlier this week, and it was great to have a couple of new, younger members along and getting involved.

The crew worked through some drafting and pumping exercises, including relaying water from 1 Alpha, our older Cat 1, through to 1 Bravo, our refurbished Cat 1.

It was a great opportunity to get the crews working together, practise our skills and make sure everyone is familiar with the appliances and equipment.

We finished the night with a barbecue, drinks and a good yarn.

A massive thank you once again to Transgrid HumeLink, Acciona and Genus for supporting our brigade with the new hard stand and gravel parking area.

It has been a game changer for our brigade — making training nights much easier, improving access around the station and giving us a much better area to get the trucks organised and ready to respond when we’re needed.

Thanks to everyone who came along and continues to support Bookham Rural Fire Brigade. 🚒

A big thank you to 42 Casts and everyone who supported the Bookham Rural Fire Brigade at the Mate vs Mate Fishing Competition at Burrinjuck a couple of weeks ago.

We were pleased to provide dinner on the Saturday night and lunch on the Sunday, and it was great to see so many people getting behind the event and supporting the brigade.

A special thank you to 42 Casts for their very generous $1,000 donation to the Bookham Rural Fire Brigade. Your support is greatly appreciated and will go towards helping us continue to serve our local community.

A big thank you also to all our brigade volunteers who gave up their time to help with the cooking, serving and everything behind the scenes. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks again to everyone involved, we really appreciate your support

Bookham Brigade would like to sincerely thank Transgrid’s Community Investment and Benefit Program, delivered by the HumeLink East Acciona Genus Joint Venture, for their generous support of our station upgrade project.

We are pleased to announce the completion of the first stage of the project, including the new 12m x 10m x 150mm concrete hard stand.

These improvements will greatly assist the brigade with vehicle access, appliance parking, training activities and overall station functionality for many years to come.

We would also like to thank the highly professional local contractors involved in the project:
• Peter Downey of PJ Bobcat and Tipper Service
• Cian Ebert of Ebert Concreting

Their workmanship, professionalism and support of the local community are greatly appreciated.

Thank you again to Transgrid and the HumeLink East Acciona Genus Joint Venture for supporting regional volunteer emergency services and local communities.
