" I literally had nowhere to stay and I actually went to the bushes to sleep...and it was the middle of winter and I had no food or clothing. To know where my life is now, in terms of finances restored, a car and in a really, really good headspace and a great community of people that I love and care about me unconditionally. Wild Hearts Holiday Adventure Program is one of the fantastic initiatives by Salt Care, supporting at-risk youth in the Shoalhaven! Through counselling, life skills training, job readiness programs and mentorship, young people are given the support, stability, and opportunities they need to overcome challenges and build themselves a thriving future.

You can say YES to helping at-risk youth become independent by supporting I Said Yes.

This afternoon, Salt Care Foundation CEO Peter Dover joined the women of Berry CWA as they spend the night at Berry Showground to raise awareness about the growing homelessness crisis in our region. Peter emphasized that this is a community issue—one that can be addressed through local support and action. In addition to their advocacy efforts, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Berry CWA for continually providing meals, blankets, and clothing to those in need via Salt Care.

We are working to end homelessness in the Shoalhaven through initiatives including Safe Shelter, Salt Temporary Accommodation and Salt Assisted Housing.

In 2024 alone, Salt provided 4,782 beds at Safe Shelter and helped 392 people find a home or secure temporary accommodation through the Salt Assisted Housing program.
