We've recently been enjoying using drone imagery as an observation technique.
Aerial observation expands the boundaries of what we observe and has helped us see landscape as a process unfolding in space rather than a single location.
During our recent site visit in the Blue Mountains (Jamaica) we played with observations in various forms:
- 🪑 sitting stationery in various locations and being receptive to the environment
- 🌸 retrieving familiar and unfamiliar objects that called our attention (and discussing them)
- 🚶♀️walking the area intuitively
- 🛸 and flying a drone throughout the visible watershed
The combined perspectives made for a richer understanding that only deepens (and widens) with time.
Everything speaks. If we're able to hear it.
