A final update about the ambulance!
About 4 weeks ago the completed ambulance made its way out to Shikunga after being fitted out at AIC Kijabe hospital.
Since then it has been busy transferring sick patients including trauma patients and mum’s in obstructed labour to receive healthcare.
We were able to see it in action during our last week in Kenya during our recent trip to Shikunga and would like to pass on a huge thanks from the hospital workers and community members.

As many of you know we have been fundraising for a new ambulance to serve Shikunga and its surrounding communities.
Well, it’s finally happened!!
Verity, the kids and I are currently serving as short term missionaries in Kenya at a place called Kijabe. I am working in the local mission hospital and Verity is serving at a school for missionary kids.
The team at Kijabe hospital jumped at the opportunity to help us outfit the new landcruiser Kenya Aid purchased and have spent the last few weeks converting it into an amazing all terrain vehicle, complete with stretcher, lights, 240v power,sirens, bench seating and a stretcher! They didn’t ask for payment for all their hard work, just requested a donation to the hospitals compassionate patient fund, which Kenya Aid has made. What a bunch of amazing guys!!
So the new ambulance is on its way out to western Kenya where it will hopefully have a long life.

Hey friends - Kenya Aid is running a trivia night on the 4th of July at the Penshurst RSL. We are raising funds to buy a new ambulance - our trusty beast has run its last race and it’s been such an essential part of our rural hospital service it’s time to get back on the road again!
Come join us for some brain bending questions and lots of fun. $20 a head - bring a few friends to make a team if you can, or if not enjoy making some new ones!
