Rotary Club of Blacktown City Inc. The Rotary Club of Blacktown City was chartered on 16 November 1961. The Rotary Club of Blacktown City, was chartered on 16th November 1961.

We are part of Rotary International, a global network of more than 1.4 million members who believe that great things happen when dedicated minds come together. It has over 40 members, spanning a dozen cultures and nationalities. The Club places a strong emphasis on Youth as our young people are the leaders of tomorrow. The Rotary Club of Blacktown City has strong partnerships with Blacktown City C

ouncil, Blacktown Workers Club, Blacktown RSL, Westpoint Blacktown, Blacktown Sun and Blacktown Advocate local newspapers. The Club maintains several important and interesting projects, such as the Police Officer of the Year Award, Blacktown and Nirimba TAFE Vocational and Scholarship Awards, Seniors Christmas Party for 350 elderly residents in local nursing homes, Citizenship Awards to 11 High Schools and 10 Primary Schools, Pride of Workmanship Awards, as well as support of The Rotary Foundation and Australian Rotary Health.

At last Tuesday’s Club meeting, 26 May 2026, we welcomed a few guests, with our guest speakers Carter O’Neill Raymond and Julie Koorey.

Our Club sponsored Carter to the recent District RYPEN Camp at Teen Ranch. Carter attended our meeting with his parents and expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity. It was a pleasure hearing him share how the weekend impacted him, including the confidence he gained and the new friends he made. Gary presented his session on “Don’t Blame Your Brain” at the camp, while Pam joined the Sunday program and enjoyed lunch with the participants.

Julie Koorey is the Manager of Blacktown PCYC. Our Club has donated $2,000 over the past year to support the PCYC Sports Scholarship Program, and Julie thanked the Club and shared how the support help open doors for young people who might not otherwise be able to take part. She also shared updates on PCYC projects and initiatives.

We also heard from Gary about the ongoing SMIT project, part of the Rotary Club of Blacktown City Su***de and Homicide prevention initiative, how the project has already saved lives. SMIT (Six Minutes Intensive Training) is presented in various ways, through PowerPoint slides, social media and online platform.
