You’ll be able to collect your free box of fresh fruit and vegetables, and you’re welcome to purchase a bag of pantry or freezer items if you wish.

Here is a delicious 7 day menu plan that costs less than $4.00 a serve, using many of the ingredients that you can get from Food Care:

I set myself a challenge this week to come up with a really great 7 day menu plan that costs less than $4.00 a serve, without resorting to dried beans every day. It came in at $3.67 per serve, and it's an AWESOME menu that will make everyone look forward to dinner every day!

One of our community members has recently been pickling the left over vegetables she has received from the Sunday food program.

The bags have been full of a generous variety and quantity of veggies and she didn't want to waste them.

What have you been doing with the vegetables? Do you pickle them, freeze them, or have such a large family that they all get eaten within days?
