Our Regional Reset team in Moreton Bay recently attendedTullawong State High School's 2026 Mental Health Week event 💙

The event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with students, school staff and local community services, while raising awareness of the Regional Reset program and the support available to young people and their families.

We're proud to be strengthening local partnerships across Moreton Bay and contributing to conversations that promote positive mental health and wellbeing in our community.

Our 2026 Leaders Training cohort recently celebrated the completion of Stage 3 of their leadership journey at the 2026 Celebration Dinner 💙

The evening showcased the remarkable growth, courage and leadership of the Shooting Stars team through inspiring speeches, live performances, shared stories and a celebration of the friendships and milestones formed throughout the program.

Planned and delivered entirely by the trainees themselves, the event was a powerful reflection of the skills, confidence and leadership they have developed along the way.

We are proud of everything these young leaders have achieved and can't wait to see what comes next.

The 6th Australasian Youth Justice Conference brought together leaders across policy, practice, research and lived experience to explore better outcomes for young people, families and communities 💙

It was a privilege for CEO Stephen Lewin, Chief Program Officer Kate Bjur, Peer Mentor Bree Thornley and Workshop Facilitator Tom Burrows to present on how is building a lived experience workforce that creates genuine pathways into leadership, employment and decision-making, not just consultation.

The discussion sparked strong interest in what it takes to meaningfully embed lived experience across an organisation.

A highlight of the conference was Andrea Davidson's keynote on Victoria's Violence Reduction Unit and its public health approach to violence prevention. Her focus on early intervention, community partnerships and lived experience-led solutions strongly aligned with the conversations from our panel about putting young people at the centre of the response.

Rain's life was shaped by significant adversity, alongside years of trauma, abuse and mental health challenges, Rain faced barriers that would have been overwhelming for many. Yet she remained determined to build a different future.

Through , Rain found connection, support and a community that helped her recognise she wasn't alone. What began as a participant's journey evolved into a commitment to help others, leading her to become an accredited Youth Insearch Leader and, today, a valued member of our Regional Reset team.

Rain now uses her lived experience to support young people facing challenges similar to those she once navigated herself, helping create the same sense of safety, connection and hope that changed her own life.

Young people from Victoria's East Gippsland and Wellington regions recently enjoyed a fun-filled day of connection during the school holidays, with music, lunch in the park and a visit to local op shops 💙

The day began with a drumming session facilitated by our Victorian Head of Delivery, Paul, and Social Worker, Kacee. While there was some initial uncertainty as participants stepped outside their comfort zones and tried something new, it didn't take long for everyone to find their rhythm, with plenty of laughter along the way. Afterwards, the group enjoyed lunch in the sunshine at a local park.

School holiday activities like these provide valuable opportunities for young people to connect, build communication skills and form new friendships in a supportive environment.

Another successful Weekend Workshop delivered at Lake Keepit, NSW 💙

Throughout the weekend, young people took part in activities designed to build connection, confidence and resilience. One activity saw participants create bracelets featuring words that hold personal meaning.

These bracelets aren't just creative keepsakes. They're a practical reminder of the mindset and strengths young people can draw on when facing challenges, helping them reconnect with the messages that resonate most when times are tough.

Our Head of Development and Engagement, Tara Van Toorn, recently attended the Philanthropy Australia Conference, an opportunity to hear how philanthropy is evolving, particularly the growing focus on systems change initiatives, community-led solutions, collaboration, and ensuring lived experience informs decision-making 💙

We were grateful to attend alongside RFQ - Richmond Fellowship Queensland, with opportunities to discuss shared challenges and innovative approaches to supporting young people and communities.

It was a timely reminder that lasting social impact is built through strong partnerships across the not-for-profit, government and philanthropic sectors. We look forward to applying these insights as we continue to strengthen Youth Insearch's engagement with philanthropic partners and supporters.
