Thank you to the Blackheath Blue Mountains Box Divvy for your donations to our food pantry, we really appreciate your kindness πŸ’™

At box divvy - Carter lane Blackheath we leave a donations box in the pick up area and invite members to add something extra (if they have capacity) to their grocery orders for the local food bank. Our members are dedicated to this, adding things weekly and contributing extras. We drop the box up to Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre for their food pantry when it’s full πŸ₯°
A super easy way for members to add a little kindness to the world 🌍.

πŸ’š Blackheath Cares – Local Support, When You Need It Most πŸ’š

Did you know BANC runs a free social support program called Blackheath Cares? It's here to support locals who need a bit of extra support.

Our volunteers offer things like:

πŸ“ž Regular check-in calls
πŸ§‘β€πŸ€β€πŸ§‘ Social visits or walks
πŸ›οΈ Light errands or shopping
πŸ’¬ A warm chat and a listening ear

Whether you're needing support yourself or know someone in the community who might benefit, we’re here to help.

We are also always looking for volunteers for this program, so please get in touch if you'd like to offer support.

Struggling with your electricity or gas bill? πŸ’‘
We can help.

Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre provides access to the Energy Accounts Payment Assistance (EAPA) Scheme in partnership with Blackheath Vinnies.

EAPA is designed to support people experiencing a short-term financial crisis or emergency, helping you stay connected to essential energy services when things get tough.

How it works:
1️⃣ Call 4787 7770 to book an appointment
2️⃣ Let your energy provider know you have an EAPA assessment scheduled β€” they are not permitted to disconnect you
3️⃣ Bring your electricity or natural gas bill to the appointment
4️⃣ Blackheath Vinnies volunteers will assess your eligibility
5️⃣ If approved, EAPA vouchers are submitted electronically to your energy provider and usually appear on your account within five business days.

πŸ‘‰ We encourage you to speak with your energy provider first, as all NSW energy retailers have hardship programs that may help.
If you’re unable to make arrangements with your provider, give us a call and we’ll book you in.
