Vale Brian Porter

The Blackburn North CC President, committee and members mourn the passing of Brian Porter, who passed on the 10th of July.

A former player of our club, he had an astonishing career across Premier Cricket, Sub-District Cricket, and playing, coaching and umpiring throughout the BHRDCA.

Brian was inducted into the BHRDCA Hall of Fame in 2025, and no one could be more deserving.

Brian’s impact on cricket and our club will never be forgotten. We will miss him coming to the club on a Saturday afternoon and watching us play from on top of the hill.

Our sincere condolences to the Porter Family 💚💛

💙 Vale Brian Clifford Porter 💙

It is with great sadness that the Box Hill Reporter District Cricket Association acknowledges the passing of Brian Clifford Porter, who passed away on 10 July 2026, aged 83.

Brian dedicated a lifetime to cricket, making a significant contribution both on and off the field.

🏏 Brian's cricket journey included:
• Premier Cricket with Richmond Cricket Club
• Sub-District Cricket with Box Hill Cricket Club and Glen Iris Cricket Club
• Player and Coach at Mitcham Cricket Club
• Player at Blackburn North Cricket Club
• Nearly 20 years as a respected BHRDCA Umpire
• Officiated an incredible 12 Ray McIntosh Shield Grand Finals
• Inducted into the inaugural BHRDCA Hall of Fame in 2025 in recognition of his outstanding service to our Association.

Brian was highly respected throughout the cricket community for his dedication, knowledge, fairness and passion for the game. His contribution to the BHRDCA and Victorian cricket will be remembered for many years to come.

On behalf of the Board, clubs, players, officials and volunteers of the Box Hill Reporter District Cricket Association, we extend our sincere condolences to Brian's family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest in Peace, Brian. Your legacy will forever be part of the BHRDCA story. 💙🏏

Take advantage of the school holidays to try our extra Teen classes running this week.
We know how important it is to teach good habits to our younger generation about staying fit and active, that's why we are proud to showcase our High School Girls Reformer Pilates and FIIT30 classes. These are a great way for high school students to increase energy and find a healthy stress release while they are studying.

Tuesday 7th July
3:30pm and 4:30pm Teen FIIT30
Get fitter faster with FIIT30. Designed to strengthen and tone muscles and increase your overall strength and fitness.

Thursday 9th July
3:30pm and 4:30pm Teen Reformer Pilates
Designed to improve core strength, flexibility and posture and lengthen your muscles. A great stress release and great for injury prevention.

Women's Pre-Season training continues tonight 2nd July, 2026 at Century Cricket Centre, Mary Street, Blackburn from 6pm - 8pm.
Club legend, Anthony Uhr-Henry will be running some specialist batting training tonight, a great opportunity for everyone to take advantage of. Thanks Anthony !

Thanks to the players who came to the first women’s pre-season training session today.
Welcome to new player, Courtney Doyle.
Next session is on Thursday, 2nd July. 6pm - 8pm at Century Cricket Centre, Blackburn.
$10 per head to cover net hire.

Hi BNCC, tomorrow, Sunday, 21st June we commence our Women's Program for Season 2026-27. Training is at 10am - 12noon at Century Cricket Centre, Mary Street Blackburn.
The work we do during our pre-season with be imperative to our improvement and preparation for the upcoming season.
If you can bring a friend, please do. Gonna be great !!
Any other perspective players, wives, girlfriends and our women's coaches are welcome. It's $10 per hear to cover the net hire.
We'll be playing in Social 9's grade again this season which is a development grade.
