ESPS is a photographic club catering to the interests of amateur photographers in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. We pursue our hobby in a relaxed atmosphere which welcomes all photographers irrespective of their experience levels. With a long history in both film and slide photography, the Society is now focussed primarily on digital photography. Members come from all walks of life wi
th a generous representation from both genders covering a wide cross-section of age groups. Members are encouraged to participate in the running of the Society if they wish, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Located in Blackburn, Victoria we are easily reached by car, bus or train and we are situated in the local Senior Citizen's hall in Centre Road, Blackburn
What do we do? We engage in a number of activities centered around photography, the primary activity being a competition program where members compete against each other in regular monthly competitions. We also compete against other local clubs as a means of honing our skills. Competing is not mandatory, and a number of members simply enjoy seeing the work of others and learning from judge's comments. We also have a social program, with periodic outings and visits to local places of interest. Visits and talks by experienced photographers and occasional practical nights help to expand our knowledge as we strive to improve our overall photographic skills. For our annual program, click here. How do I join? Joining is easy, and relatively inexpensive with discounts for those on a pension or students. There are no restrictions on age or gender and you are encouraged to attend several of our meetings before deciding to join as a member.
