DID YOU KNOW?

The Barcoo Community Village has evolved significantly since its early days.

While services and programs have grown over the years, our purpose remains the same: supporting people to live independently, remain connected and enjoy a high quality of life.

Looking back reminds us just how far we've come together.

How long have you been connected with the Village?

DID YOU KNOW?

The Barcoo Community Village was created because local people recognised a local need.

Community members came together with a shared belief that older residents and people living with disability deserved quality housing and support close to home.

That community spirit continues to shape the Village today.

What do you think makes our community special?

Navigating the Journey 💛

Recently, Barcoo Community Village had the privilege of hosting the Navigating the Journey community event, bringing together organisations dedicated to supporting people through every stage of life.

It was a valuable opportunity to connect with local health and community services, share information, and learn more about the support available for individuals and families across our region.

Thank you to Western Queensland PHN, Palliative Care Queensland, Proveda, and everyone involved in delivering such an important event. Conversations like these help build stronger, more informed communities where people know they are not alone.

Together, we can ensure people have access to the right support, at the right time, close to home. 💚

DID YOU KNOW?

The Barcoo Community Village began with a simple but powerful vision—to provide safe, affordable housing and support for older people and people living with disability in our community.

What started as an idea shared by local people has grown into a place that many now proudly call home.

The Village exists today because community members recognised a need and worked together to create a local solution.

Do you remember when the idea for the Village was first discussed? We'd love to hear your memories. We have the minutes from the very fist community meeting, reach out if you think a family member was in attendance!
