This chart is worth 1000 words.

Our recent Politics in the Pub guest, Carrick Ryan, breaks down what GDP per capita doesn't tell you - and why the US is a cautionary tale, not a model.

Forty years of trickle-down economics. The data is in.

Norway. Denmark. Finland. High wealth, low inequality. That's a policy choice, not an accident.

Australia sits uncomfortably in the middle. And we're making choices right now about which direction we head.

Worth 2 minutes of your time. πŸ‘‡

What a 10 days for Voices of Fisher. πŸ™Œ

Three events. More than 50 volunteers. Hundreds of conversations. All in the name of the most fundamental Aussie value - a Fair Go.

And our community is speaking up on something we can do about that Fair Go.

Tax the Gas! Australia's gas belongs to all of us. It's time we got a fair return.

Politics in the Pub at Slipstream Brewing with Konrad and Carrick.
164 locals packed Slipstream Brewing for Fair Go or Fake News? β€” a sold-out conversation about misinformation, vested interests and doing politics better. The room was electric. ⚑

Breakfast at Coffee@4551
The morning after, 30 locals continued the conversation over coffee β€” talking fairness, integrity in politics, and whether Australians are getting a fair return on our gas exports. Special guests Konrad Benjamin (Punter's Politics) and Carrick Ryan joined us for both. πŸ™

Day of Action - Maleny, Kawana, Moffat Beach
Ten days later, 37 volunteers chose to spend their Saturday doing something that matters. Doors knocked, sausages sizzled, markets visited, 200 signatures collected - and great bevvies and chats in the arvo. 🍺

This is just the beginning. Introducing Gas Tax Sundays every month. Next one is on June 28th. Come join us! voicesoffisher.org/get_involved

πŸ›« VoF's tech wizard is leaving the building β€” temporarily!
JM is our website manager, AV guru, and event staging genius. He's the reason our events look polished, our tech doesn't fail, and our online presence is something to be proud of. The quiet achiever. Half the time you don't see him - you just see the results.
John heads off on a big holiday tomorrow, and we want to make sure he leaves knowing how valued he is. We'll miss you, JM, but you've absolutely earned this!
Bon Voyage! Come back to us in one piece. πŸŒπŸ™Œ

Our recent guest at Politics in the Pub Carrick Ryan on the global rise of populist nationalism. A great reason for us to keep up the mission to promote truth and evidence as the basis for policy, not emotion fuelled by misdirection and downright misinformation. Truth matters πŸ’ͺ

Our gas. Our money. Our future.

Australia exports more gas than almost any nation on earth. Gas companies are booking record profits. And we're paying some of the highest energy bills in the world.

A 25% gas export tax could raise $17 billion a year for Australians. Better hospitals. Cheaper childcare. Real action on housing. Energy bills that don't keep climbing. And maybe even the direct rail line all the way to the Airport?!?!

Saturday 30 May, Voices of Fisher is hitting the streets across Fisher - sausage sizzles, market stalls, doorknocking, and a well-earned drink to finish. We're taking this conversation directly to our community and collecting signatures for our petition.

There's a spot for everyone - coast or hinterland, morning or afternoon.

A great snippet of truth from this morning's brekky chat with the super stars. (Albeit a possible misspeak from Konrad saying Tony Abbott when he meant Albo..?? I think!) Stoked to have them with us.
